Sep 22nd 2006 6:28PM My Name is Earl. Seems to provide extra content for the HD viewers.

Democracy Player now better, stabler (Download Squad)

Jun 23rd 2006 3:35PM I will give this a try, but the old version never worked with the RSS links I got from tvrss.net. I prefer fireant.tv player. Combined with RSS feeds from tvrss.net and you have a replacement for TiVo.

Carriers and manufacturers form pact to push mobile Linux (Engadget)

Jun 15th 2006 2:38PM With open source operating systems, service providers would not be able to disable functions on their phones. Imagine all the stuff we could do!!! Frankly, I don't see VZW and Sprint going for that.

Sony unveils "world's smallest" LED projector (Engadget)

Samsung's HL-S5679W LED DLP gets real (Engadget)

May 5th 2006 3:35PM This sounds like a pretty awesome set. IIRC, black levels on a DLP are consistently better than black levels on an LCD so you shouldn't worry about the contrast ratio being weighted toward one end of the scale. 1080p is what I love. If I had the need and the means this is what I'd get.

Kota Nezu's Jellyfish Sonic water speakers (Engadget)

May 2nd 2006 2:23PM So if I put a bowl of water and a waterproof flashlight on top of my current speakers, I'm gonna save a bunch of money right? And I won't be killed by those tripod looking things from Chicken Little?

Panasonic TH- 58PX600U, TH-58PX60U - 58-inch, 10,000:1, 720p plasmas (Engadget)

Mar 30th 2006 5:23PM Why are manufacturers even making 720p sets now? I know there is an argument about 720p is more lines of resolution per second than 1080i, but now there are 1080p sets available. Why isn't this the standard now?

Day 30 of Engadget Mobile's 30 days of cellphone giveaways (Engadget Mobile)

Mar 15th 2006 11:57AM Last day for a really cool phone.
