Breakfast Topic: Did the talent tree reboot work? (WoW)
May 14th 2011 12:36PM Removing the ability to to split points into any column changed the way my DK played so much I gradually ended up not playing the game anymore.
I could still output the same amount of DPS, but only at the test-dummy, as my method of playing PvP doesnt fit with the current talent spec.
Good or bad?
In my case bad, but thats an MMO, same changes go your way others dont.

Calacanis's case against Apple: TUAW responds (TUAW.com)
Aug 10th 2009 5:52PM Back in the day when Apple was tiny and most its consumers where fanboys, this type of system would work. The TUAW crew that responded here shows that. Christina clearly thinks that just because Safari is good for some, the rest can use something they dislike as much as she does Opera.
But today a bigger and bigger part of the consumer base are people like myself.
Switchers.
We come from the, at times, confusing open world of Windows. We have expectations. On MacOS the system is just open and functioning enough to think that there is no problem. Expensive but good.
But, just like (pre 7) IE, Messenger and so on, Safari, iCal and so on is loaded if you want it or not. The same on the iPhone/Touch. I have never used any of the preinstalled apps on my iTouch and only phone related once on the iPhone.
The reason for mentioning switchers is simply this. As quickly as I switched to Mac I can switch back to Windows. As quickly as I made the Touch my mediaplayer I can make it the ZuneHD. So it is with the iPhone to.
That is why Apple should care about the point from Calacanis.
But my biggest problem with this article is the question of what this site is for.
Are you fanboys or are you journalist?
Because in most articles on the site that deals with anything that is potentially negative about Apple from outside sources, I only get a very small sense of journalistic integrity.
I came here for news and discussions. Its no longer that, atleast not on some issues. If you have made the site the way you want it, great. The web is big enough for me to go somewhere else.
Camtasia coming to Mac on August 25th (TUAW.com)
Aug 9th 2009 12:23PM May I just say that I am more likely to switch back to Windows 7 than convince people I know to switch to Mac.
Not really related to the topic of a screencaster article, but neither was that intro.
Some thoughts on the new Microsoft ads (TUAW.com)
Mar 30th 2009 9:10AM I will try to not tell my P2 running Win95 that it should stop working cause its a PC....
Then start buying all the software that I have had to buy for my Mac that I have freeware for on my PC. And the Switcher ad people where actors.
You know what,..., this discussion will never end. Anybody seen the movie about the two companies.
Steve says he has a better product and Bill tells him it doesnt matter.
Thats how it is, so I use both. Leopard for works, XP (or 7) for everything else.

Apples OS is a "niche product" as far as the EU is concerned, and other rules apply.
'Fake Steve' chides CNBC's Goldman in source foofaraw (TUAW.com)
Jan 16th 2009 11:29AM Am I reading a blog that, as a Weblogs site, reports on everything Apple with a large amount of enthusiasm? Or am I reading a fanboys rant site on how we should only talk about what Apple wants us to talk about.
Everything is working as intended.
Leave Steve alone. (Yes I just compared this to Britney).
No, this is a story about Apple, about its CEO that has in good times put his face in public. It should therefor be published and talked about.
But, as it is a story about a persons health, it should be done so with respect.
