Where do we get those wonderful toys - photos of tech offices (Download Squad)

Jul 25th 2007 2:40PM Thanks for linking to the site, I was kind of blindsided by all of the interest in it yesterday. I will be heading out to some offices on my own too, the flickr scouring was more of a way to get things started.

Fatblogging... (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Apr 27th 2007 1:49AM I lost a bunch of weight when I was in europe last summer from a mixture of walking and being too poor for correct portions of food. I never knew a loaf of white bread a day could be so appetizing :)

After taking a look at your particular blog, I noticed that you actually disclose which posts are sponsored. Thank you for doing that. My comments were not pointed at someone following such guidelines.

Perhaps we can join forces and convince other PPP people to do the same thing?

I agree that lots of other unethical/shady things happen, but that doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to it. I would hardly call this 'picking on', Jason is commenting on PPP because it has to do with an industry he is intimately familiar with and passionate about keeping clean.

Mar 26th 2007 2:59PM Come to think of it...I can't believe anything any pro-PPP people have to say on the subject because they are probably paid by PPP to be positive only about it. From here on out, anything any of you say is called into question as being paid for.

Mar 26th 2007 2:37AM I guess the best real world 'business' example to look at is the Microsoft Vista free laptop thing from a few months ago. Surely, it would be unethical/shady to give Vista a gleaming review on a blog post without disclosing that you had received the laptop and vista for free. (especially if you were only allowed to be positive)

"Actually I fully expect that from 90% of our corrupt politicians, so that is not a valid argument."

So are you saying that the behavior is unethical or that unethical people have no problem engaging in that type of behavior?

@Marisa
"a public servant has a greater obligation to remain untainted, avoiding even the appearance of impropriety"

So using payperpost is okay simply because its users don't have the same high ethical obligations that politicians do? Also, you just admitted that payperpost carries the appearance of impropriety.

Mar 25th 2007 7:40PM Let's say that I am a politician in California and I try to introduce a new bill unbanning smoking inside restaurants. I tell everyone that my reasoning for doing such is because it just makes sense to unban it. But in reality I was paid millions by tobacco companies to introduce the bill.

Now using some of the arguments I have been reading, we can assume that such actions are okay because I would have introduced the bill anyways. So why not get paid millions for it?

Running vs. Walking -- Which is better? (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Feb 23rd 2007 6:33PM I think it is important to do what you are able to. If you can't run to begin, start off walking and build up.

If it were me, I'd do the 90min of 'really going for it' than 90-120min of ease.
