Microsoft Store employees perform dance of the cringe (video) (Engadget)
Nov 17th 2009 8:36AM Someone tell me...why can't Apple sue them for stealing the concept of their stores?
I don't even have to explain the similarities, we all know. Haven't they patented the design of their stores or something?
Verizon takes another swing at AT&T, puts iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys (Engadget)
Nov 9th 2009 9:38AM They're not that misleading. Look at it this way: They're clearly stating that it's 3G coverage, not EDGE coverage. Also, if you look a bit further back in Engadget, Digg, or Gizmodo posts, you'll find that AT&T actually slowed down their EDGE network to force their users to upgrade to 3G speeds. So essentially, what we get is an entire country with shitty EDGE speed, and excellent 3G speeds, so long as you're in a major city. I live in NYC, which has insanely fast 3G, but when I go upstate to college, it's all gone, but I'm still paying for 3G.
To be honest, any phone is practically useless on EDGE at this point in time. It just takes too long to load anything
Verizon takes another swing at AT&T, puts iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys (Engadget)
Nov 9th 2009 9:30AM The problem with the commercials is, nobody will ever give up on the iPhone, no matter how shitty the coverage is. We'd all rather just jailbreak it, which is what we all have been doing.
I think Verizon should realize this, and focus less on marketing against the iPhone, and more on having Apple open up to them, and other service providers.
Windows 7 already bigger than Snow Leopard and Linux combined (Download Squad)
Nov 9th 2009 9:18AM The only reason it's so successful was because Vista was so shitty. Everyone NEEDS to upgrade to Windows 7 otherwise they're stuck with a bad operating system. I think this has less to do with it being a good operating system, and more to do with their marketing. If they spent half the money that they spent advertising on really fixing their problems, they could beat Apple and Linux.
Verizon removes gloves, begins 'There's a map for that' anti-AT&T ad campaign (video) (Engadget)
Oct 6th 2009 8:13AM It's ok Verizon, even iPhone owners hate AT&T. Just be patient, patience yields reward...Hell, by the time Apple makes the iPhone open to all networks, AT&T might go bankrupt or something. Although, you should be making fun of AT&T, rather than Apple, because iPhone users will apparently go with whatever plan, regardless of how shitty it is. Perhaps take a shot at: "Saving minutes saves money!" Well yeah, but with the way technology is growing, only senior citizens should be using AT&T, I'm sure there's some graph explaining age and cell phone usage somewhere. I have no rollover minutes because I used them all, and AT&T JUST recently decided to have a "Top Ten" option for unlimited calling to off network numbers. Which certainly helps out, but I think that if AT&T thinks that "rollover minutes" are their major selling point, then they're going to have to put more minutes, for less money. Because (reiterating) everyone uses their minutes each month, in fact, I'm certain a lot of people go over their minutes.
Fuck AT&T, I'm going to have a huge party when their stock goes straight to hell and they go bankrupt. And some other company has to purchase them in order to keep phonelines going. I'm going to think that it's either going to be Verizon who purchases them in the long run.
The funny part is...Verizon is AT&T's baby. Go ahead and wiki it.
So it's kind of like...a family feud or something.

New Laptop Hunters ad proves Macs are just for children (Engadget)
Apr 10th 2009 10:56AM I guess you guys haven't seen my other comment
You're PC fanboys, you're going to whine and whine about how they're better, I'm not concerned about what's better, I'm concerned about what's better for the consumer.
I work at my college's ISP as a computer repair technician. I'm also a certified Apple Technician.
We see at least 10 Vista problems a day, each are different and special in their own way.
Vista has a full range of problems, and it's not just because of Hardware, I'm not a fanboy, we can have an intelligent discussion about this all we want, Macs have their share of issues too. If they didn't, the Genius Bar wouldn't exist.
That being said, I think Mac's are better for the consumer. Each semester, we see only 2 macs.
10 PCs a day (with Windows Vista) vs 2 Macs a semester (usually 2-3 months).
When you spend 2000 for a new Mac, you're probably also getting the AppleCare protection plan, and an extra 3 years of support, in case anything goes wrong.
When you spend 600 on a PC, you'll be spending a lot more money for Geek Squad, or whomever, to fix it over the years.
I have used Vista, I've used it several times, and I don't want to really argue over which is better.
Macs are better for the consumer, they're stable, they're user friendly, they don't(seldom if ever) get viruses.
