Aug 5th 2010 10:48PM I bought one of these when they were first released. I didn't use it much at first as the drivers did not support 5.1. Once that was fixed, I used it occasionally with the Hauppauge software. Once DVBLink arrived, I integrated it into my WMC test system. Using firewire for channel control with a Motorola 6412, it works but not reliably. Sometimes it would record every scheduled event for an entire week, but then fail constantly. I have set up the STB, the WMC, and the HDPVR to power cycle every morning at 4am. That improved the situation somewhat. The biggest problem now is that MC7 will try to record a scheduled event but the end time will be completely wrong...8 hours longer than it should. Very odd.

I was considering this new beta driver but have not had time to image my existing test system and try this new driver on a clean install. Now that it is no longer beta, I'll have to bump it up on the list.

People who say these do not work at all either did not set it up correctly, had an incompatible STB (google it there are some out there), or have no tolerance for missed recordings. It works, but not 100%.

Absolutely correct. This Engadget post is very misleading. The editors need to do a better job of vetting their posts.

Let me say it clearly:
Sony 4K SRX systems display two 2K images for 3D. This does not add up to 4K. Do not be misled by the marketing. And by the way, just because a 2D can be presented in 4K does not magically make the LCOS "black" levels match DLP. UGH, why do people always fall for the marketing hype?!

RealD and Master Image are leased system that take a percent of each ticket sold. Dolby is not. If a cinema charges extra for a Dolby 3D presentation, they a keeping the money.

May 28th 2010 7:58AM A good idea and convenient for those of us who travel frequently, but hotels will be slow to adopt. Most chain hotels are independently owned and operated and the infrastructure upgrade would be cost prohibitive.

Mar 28th 2010 10:54AM I have been hesitating on FIOS since a friend in RI told me they could never get his bill correct. He had to call every month to get it corrected. After three months he gave up and canceled. They threatened him with the ETF and he said "I don't care".

Anyone else having billing issues?

Feb 22nd 2010 10:25PM NBC has been a big disappointment. After the first night of nonsense commentary leading up to the opening ceremony, I had enough. I have seen less than an hour of coverage since then. It's too bad since I am interested, but I cannot stand the lame talking heads wasting air time.

Audi...Green police very disconcerting. It probably would have played better in Europe. It actually made me a little mad and I have always liked Audis.
All go daddy and bud light ads were bad.
I liked the Doritos dog collar...pretty funny...make that d.b. spasm!
