Things don't look good for Bionic Woman (AOL TV)

Dec 6th 2007 10:22AM If I recall correctly, didn't Eick leave the show after the Pilot was produced? If not him, someone of importance must have because the tone and scripting of the show went deep in the dumper after the ORIGINAL pilot (see your favorite bitTorrent for proof). That pilot, in it's original form had an interesting cast, such as a MUCH better "Little Sister" character; the MTV runaway hacker they replaced her with was the first strike against the show in my book.

And as for Michelle Ryan... having seen "Jekyll" I was incredibly excited anticipating Bionic Woman. It was painfully evident upon watching that Sackoff steals the show and the casting should have been reversed. Ryan should have been allowed to use her native accent, how cool would that have been for the "Evil" character? I suspect that the real deficiencies lie BEHIND the cameras (cough DIRECTING cough), since most in the cast have shown great talent in previous roles.

Anyway, the MINUTE they revealed that the boyfriend was dead in the second episode, I turned to my wife and said, "I bet we watch MAYBE one more episode for Starbuck, but this is a STEAMING pile of disappointment." 3 weeks later, 2 unwatched eps had were being deleted from the DVR and the "Bionic Letdown" was gone from our schedule.

The ONLY show we absolutely LOVE this season, and have NEVER been disappointed in, has been the incredible "Pushing Daisies." Thank GOD in heaven that someone had the BALLS (guy or gal) to greenlight the best show of the year (hell, maybe even the decade on the big 4 nets).

Jun 15th 2007 12:47PM Thanks Scott... I wasn't trying to diss you BTW, now that I read it tho' I might have been overly critical. The shear amount of info you two are streaming (okay UPLOADING) from the ether that is WWDC is VERY appreciated.

peace

Jun 14th 2007 12:31PM For Pete's sake, PLEASE put the focus of the camera and interview on the INTERVIEWEE and not the TUAW correspondent... Just have them switch chairs before you start rolling. Then, when you zoom out for the two-shot, the interviewer can turn to the subject and the Subject can talk to the camera.

Simple, effective and above all, professional.

Thanks for the videos none the less, it is great to get some behind the scenes from WWDC.

BoxCloud: "Dead Simple File Sharing" (Download Squad)

Jul 29th 2006 12:38PM If you get into the realm of pay services (as it has no free option) I must recommend Strongspace by Textdrive, now a part of Joyent.
I have been a user by way of their "Mixed Grill" lifetime package and find it dead simple to use. Any sftp client works to upload, they use ZFS so many files are much smaller to store, and web access can be doled out on an individual basis via an excellent web interface. I keep my mac and xp important data backed up, and accessable. My coworker has used his to send and receive large files to and from some very computer novice clients with zero issue.

I'm in government service so I have zero affiliation with textdrive, I just stand by their excellent products.
