The Pirate Bay founders sentenced to prison, website soldiers on (Engadget)

Apr 18th 2009 8:01PM Yeah, I'll pay 15 bucks....the price of a CD...or DVD.... ;-)

Apr 18th 2009 7:58PM Perhaps, but I still am not paying Adobe $1,500 for their software. If I copy it am I a bad person? Nope, I simply do not have thousands upon thousands of dollars to spend on their software simply because that's what they deem it is worth. Perhaps if they lowered the price of Photoshop to $50...because let's be honest here, it hardly takes them any more hours to make the next revision of PS than it took ID Studios to make the last Quake game--and they still make money somehow!--THEN and only then would people pretty much stop pirating it. Until then, they continue to make their products inaccessible to the little man. And I will continue to scour the net for it.

Piracy may be morally wrong, but so are giant corporations that sue any and every competitor, including file sharing services that threaten their $5M-per-year-salary-making executive's livelihoods. I say, as Mr. Nukem so eloquently put it, "Let God sort 'em out." and that means for me, I am "stealing" some software and music. God-forbid that I commit such a heinous act against humanity. Money lost is not the end of the world, but then this is America.

Apr 18th 2009 7:14PM @Kelmon

I love how Kelmon is on such a moral high-horse. "oh yeah, I work for everything I buy." Yeah, but you probably rape small children in your basement you twisted little turd. You and everybody else on planet Earth have vices, addictions, character flaws and more. Copying some music, movies games and more doesn't a bad person make. Perhaps all the time he spent on here arguing his case, he could have raised money to fight AIDS or planted a tree. Narrow minded people like him are sickening. I loved the comment where he said that the Pirate Bayers should be given capital punishment. Just proves my theory that he is a sick little f*ck, with a serious problem. Nobody deserves to die because they copy 0s and 1s son, NOBODY. Now go plant that tree, or ill break you.

Apr 18th 2009 7:08PM This was always GoDaddy's founder's philosophy. Any press is good press....even bad press. Controversy brings attention, and attention brings revenue.

Installing Windows 7 on a Mac (Download Squad)

Jan 24th 2009 2:45AM Sorry, wasn't trying to "troll." Just open some eyes. Promise I won't post again for at least a year. (After this one of course.)

Apple makes good products, but I cannot understand why so many people think they are the ONLY ones worth buying.

Jan 24th 2009 2:24AM Hmmm...I didn't intend to make it out to be such a "religious war." The point I was trying to convey is that Apple is a company just like any other, and so many people act like it (Apple) is the first, last and only way to do tech.

I was just really annoyed with the author's line about NEVER buying a competing brand of laptop again. That to me is just flat stupid. (And a very, very common opinion--shared by a vast majority of the Apple users I have met.) Dell built it's reputation on quality then lost it. What makes anybody so sure that Apple will NEVER pull a similar stunt? Steve Jobs announces a leave of absence and Apple's stocks plummet. There is no reason to think that Apple will or ever should be the end all for ANYTHING. No company should.

Where did Bush come into the question? I didn't much care for the guy, and I don't think he had a single thing to do with computers...He probably never learned how to turn one on--I don't know or care. This is a tech blog site, not the Economist.

If you read what I said, I never dissed on Apple's designs or software. I diss the (majority of the) lame-ass people that use them, and then set up Apple shrines in their heads. They simply cannot fathom that perhaps somebody else could do something as well as or better than their beloved fruity friend, which is annoying to me.

Jan 24th 2009 1:03AM Goodness I despise Mac people. Your ridiculous devotion to a corporation is just an example of your ignorance. Saying things like "I'm certainly not going to buy a laptop that doesn't have the word 'Mac' in it" are just stupid. If Mac goes under or goes to crap in quality like Dell Laptops did years ago, will you still be as ignorantly devoted to a flipping name? Half the reason our country is where it is right now, is because giant corporations obliterated small mom-and-pop competition, and then collapsed under their own weight by not being able to manage themselves right. (Think CompUSA, Circuit City, etc.) If you enjoy your tech, awesome, but don't be a royal dill-weed and swear allegiance to a freaking corporation. But then I am preaching to a bunch of people who are just going to hate mail me all night long, aren't I?
