Sony patents biometric controllers, handhelds (Joystiq)

Nov 3rd 2011 12:53PM @tehixe

I was about the same the same thing. patent system is broken. They need to either have a proof of concept or have a much better expiration period of a few years. that way they have to renew their thousands of patents to and show that they are trying to develop something or they lose it and someone else who has more than just an idea can at least bring some innovation out. Most of these companies just drop a flag for future lawsuits.

Cryptic's Neverwinter to be a 'full-fledged MMO' (Massively)

Oct 6th 2011 12:20PM @bobfish
they said they were re-focusing the genre toward action (not semi turn based). And they are likely getting rid of the custom made content as well. One of the best things about NWN was the fact you could have a realistic (-er) role playing game and custom mods to keep it fresh for years. Its not neverwinter anymore with those two changes. I dont see how an f2p mmo will work with custom content. That's their bread and butter is to sell you content.

Service helps users opt out of EULA class-action prevention (Joystiq)

I am glad someone finally gets it.

New PS3 Terms of Service aim to prevent class-action lawsuits, are part of mandatory PSN update (Joystiq)

Sep 19th 2011 12:09PM @lazerbyte

the ID protection only came after they were threatened with the law suit.
Sony has a history of bad customer PR which made things worse.
MS is not immune from the same thing, but they havent had as many debacles as Sony has had recently (knock on wood)
I have a PS3 and will gladly assist in the class action suit against them for taking OtherOS away (yes I used it).
Sony will draw it out for months, even years, but cannot win.
