New iPhone 4 ad touts battery life (TUAW.com)
Nov 16th 2010 12:21PM Well, I returned my iPhone 4 after a month and got an Android phone just because of personal preference, but when I had the iPhone 4 (after upgrading from a 3G), the difference was night and day. My iPhone 4 could easily last 24 hours to my 3G's 8 or so... maybe. I love my Captivate now, but the battery still doesn't compare to the iPhone 4.

Jul 27th 2010 12:27PM Come on Darren! We don't go to In-n-Out here, we go to Cookout!
YouTube moves solidly into the future by supporting 4K content (Engadget)
Jul 10th 2010 6:22PM @midnightblade I wish I knew what the deal is. It's very frustrating. The other day I had a movie buffeting incredibly slow, so I ran a speed test at the same time and got 15 Mbps as a result, so I know my connection speed isn't to blame. I have Time Warner Cable for Internet though and I've heard talk about some kind of routing issue that could be slowing down buffer speed for people on Time Warner with similar issues.
I don't know what is causing it, but I really wish someone would fix it because it sucks to have a nice fast connection and still not be able to watch anything on YouTube.

Jul 9th 2010 7:20PM @Aguiluz Yeah, and first they need to get some damn bandwidth. Hell, I have trouble getting SD videos to buffer fast enough to stream. I can't believe they are going to add higher resolution when I can't even get their current content to play.

Jul 8th 2010 12:44PM @mobilehavoc Or here's a magical thought, they'll both continue to co-exist along with WinMo and Blackberry and give consumers choice!
Why do you people feel the need to act like one of the two is going to disappear in a year or two because the other is so good no one will want to use anything else?
Android 2.2 (Froyo) versus iOS 4: the browser showdown (video) (Engadget)
Jul 7th 2010 3:06PM @Glock Let me just quote for you:
"And boy, it sure looks like it was worth the wait -- Ars Technica's JavaScript benchmarks show that not only is Froyo's browser almost three times faster than its Éclair counterpart, but it also beats iOS 4's Safari by at least two-fold. That said, numbers alone don't always reflect real-life performance -- especially with Froyo supporting iPhone's much-missed Flash -- so we went ahead and conducted our own browser speed test."
Pretty sure I'm not the one who has issue with reading.

Jul 7th 2010 2:41PM @tasteskindasalty As someone who definitely loves technology, especially gadgets, it blows my mind that people sit on the internet and actually get incredibly angry and have such hatred towards other brands than their chosen favorite. It's very likely the most stupid thing I've ever seen.
I can't agree more. We have two incredible phones and mobile operating systems. There is choice for people to pick whatever fits them more. The nerds seem to forget that with competition comes improvement. They need to stop with the constant hating and just enjoy what works best for them.

Jul 7th 2010 2:32PM @aemengo I would use it more again if they would update it for the iPhone 4. Because of the way the pages are rendered and displayed on the iPhone 4, not even the text is clear.

Jul 7th 2010 2:30PM @dieterk So the whole second video where they uninstalled Flash just didn't load when you opened the article?
Android 2.2 (Froyo) versus iOS 4: the browser showdown (video) (Engadget)
Jul 7th 2010 2:29PM @pika2000 Why? They made a very valid point. Javascript performance doesn't make that much difference in most real world tests. Unless you're on a page loaded with javascript, you'll see nearly no difference, as proven by Engadget.
This doesn't make the javascript benchmark any less valid, it's just showing that the massive win in a javascript benchmark by Android means very little in typical browsing.
