Razer tests the waters with Project Fiona at CES (Joystiq)

Jan 16th 2012 10:24PM Ok I understand this didn't have the Windows 8 for show but really you have to ask "WHY"? It's kinda obvious, Tablet sales are stronger than ever by sales and Windows 8 is a strong x86 tablet push, A --> B --> C, thinking further tablets are the next type of computer pretty much, desktops will always be around but tablets will eventually be the dominant computer, that means you won't be producing "desktop" like accessories, you'll be producing tablet ones, that also means gaming whether gimicky or not will be directed toward decent tablets in general and as current powerful games like those on the Transformer prime will tell you , controllers are very much appreciated on games , don't try to sugarcoat anything, buttons and thumbsticks are for real games hence it makes sense that since we'll all be carrying around tablets , that we have a solution for using a controller ,since there is no current solution for sitting without a desk to play a tablet game using a controller.

Games similar to Diablo 3 or sports games are very much playable and very current as far as games go and playable on hardware that is portable just like this tablet, you don't need a dual SLI setup to play Diablo 3 or starcraft or gears of war even ( Just look at Shadow Gun for Transformer Prime Tablet)

A True PC Gamestation won't be as important for a lot of mainstream games if they optimize them like the consoles are optimized to play them. I'm willing to bet my Transformer prime is capable of playing most games if not all that can be played on an Xbox 360, if written properly, even then if not, this hardware in this article can be.

Sorry my post was so long but bottom line, I'm willing to buy a tablet that's thicker than my transformer prime if it has gaming controls. and yes I bought the gamestop controller and I like it but how can I use it in the bus, or sitting in a waiting room without looking desperate/goofy. The controls can be integrated better and they will be I'm sure. (Poor example but look at Pepper Pad 3) it had directional pad and buttons that could be used for decent gaming, least of all GOOD emulator gaming.

Star Ocean developers worked some magic on Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Joystiq)

Dec 27th 2011 12:15AM I don't regret playing FF13 though, I bought it day one, and enjoyed it very much but felt there were many things that could be better.

Star Ocean developers worked some magic on Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Joystiq)

Dec 27th 2011 12:12AM Sigh, they made a part two to a game no one asked for so fast but an awesome looking game like Versus 13 that people clearly want they can't just put some effort to get it out or freaking Kingdom Hearts 3. This must be my fault and people like me, I buy their crappy games knowing it's crappy. I should just wait for the good ones. I'm buying 13-2 knowing it will probably be below average like the first but they are hitting me in a weak spot by having time travel as part of the plot, now I have to play it.

Engadget takes a tour of the PlayStation Vita Twitter app (Joystiq)

Nov 1st 2011 7:51PM I think Vita will fit in perfectly. portable gaming devices are just in a bad position now, yes a lot of nice little time wasters are available on smartphones and so forth but any real gamer is not going to be satisfied by 99% of the games on the Appstore or Marketplace or Ovistore(Nokia). There haven't been any big releases on the PSP in the last few months I believe(possibly longer) and 3DS didn't have any AAA titles at launch and still only has a few while the DS is a great and fast selling system it's showing it's age in 2011, in terms of graphics and potential. Anyone on this gaming blog knows how popular the DS is/was but it's just time for a real upgrade. Neither the DS or the PSP were cutting edge or even current tech when they debuted. The Vita is above mainstream tech currently and probably for a while with all current practical tech available. People carry around Ipods and Ipod touches for games, Wifi surfing , music and video. The Vita has a bigger and better screen for Video (OLED is Beautiful screen tech but stupid expensive) and will be able to provide all those popular functions with a quad core processor, which is not available in any other portable yet (Kal-El quad cores are coming soon in Android tablets). The only comparison is Ipod touch has biggest and best app store, we don't know yet if Sony is taking advantage of an app market on the Vita but since it will be able to run Android PS games there is probably a android kernel somewhere in there so the possibility exists and this video shows off a nice Twitter App so I'm willing to bet there will be lots of apps that will replicate functions of a smartphone or ipod Touch.

So back to what i was saying earlier , don't judge the portable gaming market on what you see TODAY, because they is nothing around to wow consumers , the Vita will definitely wow.
I'll be getting one day one.

Duke Nukem Forever review: Fail to the King, Baby (Joystiq)

Jun 13th 2011 7:38PM I'd just like to point out what this game is. This game literally was lying around and Duke Nukem Fans wanted to see it finished so Gearbox picked it up. They picked up this very old unfinished game and completed it and put some polish. This is an old game that was requested to be finished. This is not necessarily a 2011 Duke Nukem title. This is a 2000-ish Duke Nukem sequel. It was put on modern gaming engine Unreal Engine so it wouldn't make our eyes bleed with sprites and other ancient graphics. I played the demo and thought it was cool, I did not like the laggy aiming and such but you can get by. I liked the Humor just like I enjoyed Duke NUkem 3D. However I want some modern feel and graphics and DNF I'm sure will give it to me.

5 must-have back-to-school apps for your computer and smartphone (Download Squad)

Aug 21st 2010 3:15AM Thanks a lot for the teamviewer tip. I repair/restore computers for people all the time and they always have to bring the computer to me. I've been looking for software like this for a long time, I've been trying to fiddle with VNC stuff but anything "good" or "easy" seemed to cost money or be too complicated. This helps A LOT.
I'd also like to recommend "Ninite" again, for easy no input required setup of which ever applications you choose.(I use all the time after restoring a computer)
Also "handbrake" for converting video files for our cell phones or PSP's to watch video between classes or at lunch, I know I do.
Also "Any Video converter" is a great free video converter but I recommend it because so many kids these days watch videos or listen to music on YOUTUBE, so if you want to save it "Any Video Converter" has an easy way to do it, just by pasting a link.

Universal tries to breathe life into Blu-ray via Facebook App (Download Squad)

Jan 11th 2010 1:31PM Yea, nothing wrong with not seeing it as long as you plan to see it. I recommend you see it in high def with surround if you can. I downloaded err... borrowed a copy and it's really good. If it's friends you know a bit, save it for the lan party, this is one of those movies you'll enjoy more with company.

Jan 8th 2010 10:45PM Wait. There are geeks out there that don't like Wanted? WHY? I rarely post here, but I was really curious if they were sarcastic or something cause I'm shocked. Wanted was a great movie IMO and Death race was nice action flick, not something that I really want on Bluray but I'd take WANTED in a heart beat. Curving bullets in bullet time + Super adrenaline filled Assassin = AWESOME.
Come on guys(Downloadsquad) everyone on here can't be wrong. Have a heart... unless your talking about Crank 2 then I'll understand.

Nintendo Power reveals Mega Man 10 for WiiWare (Joystiq)

Dec 10th 2009 2:24AM Thanks, I agree. I grew up with X and that's my favorite. I really enjoyed X1-X6 and I also like Maverick Hunter X, they only changed a few things but it was fun enough to buy again.
but to what you were saying, yea not everyone grew up with the 8 bit era and if 3D isn't important to you there's still side scrolling with updated graphics that would be ok too, but to actually put the effort to release a title that looks like it's from the 80's, it's only my opinion not very important but I almost feel ashed to tell people that I'm a big Megaman fan. I wrote another longer post here about this stuff too.

Nintendo Power reveals Mega Man 10 for WiiWare (Joystiq)

Dec 10th 2009 2:13AM I read these sites often but never comment, I just wanted to say that I'm a Megaman Fan from megaman 7 and up(I almost beat 9 but lost my save state, I mean cartridge) I don't see the awesome nostalgic here with the original Megaman, he felt so weak and small (to me) he's not my favorite Blue bomber that I discovered in Megaman X- X6, I know there is a lot of lame inside of the X series but the first 3 are my favorites with fun and fast gameplay. Sure they are not as hard as the original series(X6 could give a run for the money to me) but I felt he was the cool Robot I saw in the TV series that took opponents attacks and was like unstoppable.
I'm also writing because even though the Megaman Maverick Hunter X bombed , I really enjoyed it, with updated smooth graphics and new hard mode (playing with Vile seemed too hard though, at first though)
I've just been a Megaman Fan for a long time, and I guess I feel there is no bad megaman game ..... well I dunno how you feel about Megaman legends(I played that one too... well pretty much all of them but that's another story).

MAIN POINT: Megaman always symbolized to me about getting better faster stronger(NOT THE SONG), GOING BACKWARDS IN GRAPHICS DOES NOT FEEL LIKE MEGAMAN. I'm used to MEGAman not megaman. I feel some are using personal attachment that they had when they first discovered megaman in 8 bit to make judgement. EX. if you love your 1970 Mustang that you had when your a teen chances are you'll prefer it to a new one despite the many upgrades(that make sense) new ones have.
I guess I feel some aren't judging fairly and are using personal feelings that they grew up with. I hope I'm wrong but I had to say it, I'm sure someone will flame me the ones are personally attached but I don't really plan to come back here to check so you can pretend I don't even exist. It won't bother me.
