Create your own iTunes signature (TUAW.com)
Dec 7th 2005 9:50PM Kai, Well..good thing I checked back here just by chance just to see what was said. O.K., so, I do know what a Certificate is compared to Authenticating. However, in this instance, when I clicked on the link an authentication dialog box popped up out of nowhere. I admit it was my fault for assuming that it must be the iTSM that wanted authentication. After trying the iTSM again, it worked fine, and as expected. It would have been much appreciated if you hadn't got up on your self-righteous high horse. You could have simply said "Hunh, weird, I didn't get any kind of Authentication dialog when I tried to run the iTSM, maybe something else is going on with your machine". I would have come back and retried the iTSM knowing that it must have been my error... but... Thanks. Oh and I also wanted to thank you for the elitist and juvenile "ron's" comment. Nice to know where you're coming from. It would be almost as bad if I was to deride you for the comically ironic words "educated descision" in your response. So, anyways, I thought I'd give you some substance for your unsubstantiated drivel.

Dec 6th 2005 7:04PM I agree. I almost typed in my password, and then thought better of it. Not worth it at all.
Microsoft unveils Virtual Earth (beta... of course.) (Download Squad)
Jul 25th 2005 8:38AM Will probably only ever work for Windows Sheeple, Meh. At least Google Earth will eventually work on OSX and Linux. ActiveX just to run Microsoft Virtual Earth? If I wanted to blow open my Windows box with security holes, I'd use IE in the first place. Doesn't it seem odd that this Google/MS Simulated Earth idea came out of both companies at around the same time?

Jul 24th 2005 4:53AM I agree with Dave. OSX is my choice. Honestly XP should have had this from the get. SP2 easily could have added this, at least.

Jul 6th 2005 2:54PM If you have to run Windows there is a great page at http://dhost.info/kyeu/mirror/blackviper/index.html that gives the most complete run down and guides to tweak the OS that I have found. An almost daunting amount of information. If you're looking for specific info on how to streamline XP though, it's http://dhost.info/kyeu/mirror/blackviper/WinXP/xpprofiles.htm

Jun 22nd 2005 3:51PM Scott: You mentioned Acquisition as your P2P. I switched from Acquis. to Azureus Bittorrent client about 3 months ago..and I haven't ever needed to look back. Azureus+TorrentSpy.com (or any of the 100's of BitTorrent sites) and you'll be off and running. Some files I've got up to 200Kb/sec downloads. I never once got that kind of speed through any p2p. So..I guess getting back on subject..Azureus would be another to add to this growing list. (if it hadn't already been listed)

Maintainability: lessons Apple could stand to relearn (TUAW.com)
Jun 22nd 2005 12:43AM Yeah, sorry to say, that the eMac was really probably meant to be more of a "throw away if something breaks" appliance. Along the same lines as a Playstation2 maybe. I've had three of those things go bad on me (the first one I bought costing me $299US, and never once did I think about having the appliance serviced. It would cost me more to have someone crack the case and replace the drive or whatever else was going on. I just went out and bought a new one. Just like back in the first days of Television. If there was a problem with the TV, you definitely took it to a repair person. Nowadays, toss it, or sell the dead set to a hobbyist and get a new one. Just the way it seems to be going. I feel for ya, I do, but next time get a tower that is meant to be easily upgraded/maintained. If that's what you're looking for.
