For what.
To live in poverty longer with greater populations yet to feed and starve.
Technological tools used within a framework of their society ( not ours imposed on them) can help these societies develop out of their stagnation and doldrums.
Otherwise the best and brightest of these communities are "exported " to the primary industrialized world leading to more of the same.
Innovate rather than provide bandaid solutions to keep them in the past.

True that Wikipeidia is a good 3rd party proof source.
However it is just reporting old news not responsible for innovation which is what the computer and computer gaming industries were built on.

Sony to cease hawking monitors (Engadget)

The Sony CRT was utilized in many high end large computer monitors for other manufacturers such as Dell , Digital Computer ( later Compaq div) among others.
The Sony Trinitron picture tube was among the best .
Among graphic designers there was even a distinctive line across the screen.
Less knowledgable computer users would sometimes return Sony monitors for the appearance of this monikor as in their view the Sony monitor was defective.
