G2G: Share files with your Gmail account (Download Squad)

Dec 3rd 2005 12:46PM Why would you use a Gmail account to share files? I use eSnips which gives you 1 GB of free space to put anything you want; and manages it lots better than Gmail - i.e. you can define folders as private (stuff you want to access from anywhere), shared with one or more people, or public (anyone can see the stuff in them). Anyone who shares a folder can add comments to a file, download and change the file, etc. I don't trust G. to keep its nose out of my stuff (after all they EXIST to index everything they can find...), and these guys guarantee security and privacy. They have a neat photo optimizer but I put stuff there for projects I'm doing with other people, not just photos.
