Nov 20th 2009 5:32AM @Alfred That's IE9 today, it's still in development, so it might be better (or worse) when it releases...
Cowon S9 pales in white (Engadget)
Jul 14th 2009 7:35AM Way to be a typical iPod fanboy. Your iPod Touch has nothing on the S9's AMOLED screen and sound quality, customizable flash UCI's, among other things.

Apr 25th 2009 3:17PM Why does a media player have to have wifi? The main purpose of this device is media playback, not surfing the web.

Archos 2 and Archos 4 flash players leak out (Engadget)
Apr 5th 2009 4:00PM This is not meant to compete with the Touch, just look at the specs and the price range. This is meant to compete with the iPod Nano.

Stream and record 12,000 stations with Radio Sure (Download Squad)
Apr 4th 2009 3:33PM well, at least it gives you the option of letting you not start it up with windows, and it lets you change the location of the recording folder.
Besides, screamer's interface for the radio stations is terrible, going through so many menus to get to the station? Terrible... Radioshare at least lets you search and sort stations. Both programs have their pros/cons, I just think radioshare is better than screamer.

Apr 4th 2009 11:04AM Then, how would you record the radio? It has to output the recording somewhere. Even the portable version of screamer outputs it to the My Music folder.
New machine installs: the story so far (Download Squad)
Mar 5th 2009 6:52PM Netbeans? Ew. There's much better IDE's out there that use less HDD space, and system resources, like Jcreator. Also, if you want to really run light, use notepad++ to write your programs, and you can always compile/run your programs through the command prompt.
As for RSS, every major browser has a built in feed reader. Or you could use Google reader.
For IM, some light clients are Pidgin, Trillian, and a little bit heavier is Digsby.
Also, installing all those browsers is a waste, unless you are a web developer. For making it light on resources, you could do much better.
