Jan 9th 2007 9:00PM It's called revenue. If a service like Pandora is free the money has to be made somewhere. I think short, infrequent, NPR-style ads is a small price to pay.

Carbonite's kick-ass backup solution (Download Squad)

Sep 21st 2006 9:34AM I agree the install was a big buggy. But since then I've not had any trouble (2 months of use). My only gripe is that I can't tell Carbonite to backup everything "now". I don't leave my notebook PC on all the time (it's my primary system) and sometimes when I boot up Carbonite is telling me my system needs to be backed up. There's no way to do a backup before shutting down.

Dec 1st 2005 5:49PM I'd love to try Linux, but any time I need a little helper program, or read about a new tool that will make me more efficient, I always find it for Windows. Maybe someday!
