Sep 4th 2010 9:51AM The more I see and hear about Windows Phone 7, the more I want one. I'm glad that Microsoft have come at this with so many new (and in my opinion) great ideas rather than just trying to create an iPhone clone.

I've never really been a phone nut, they just have never interested me but I can see myself trying to get one of these as soon as I can (really bad credit rating not withstanding!).

May 13th 2010 4:42PM I tried it on a computer that had a rogue anti virus app. Ran the computer in safe mode ran the app, had a face palm moment when i realised that i had to use safe mode with networking. Started again and found that NPE removed nothing of the roughe anti virus program. Ran Malwarebytes removed everything and got computer back to normal.

NPE has a way to go yet, but looking at how long to took them to improved NIS and N360 to something that is actually quite good I have a feeling they'll keep on plugging away at it.

Mar 5th 2010 1:42PM I think has has a point. I have multiple computers and I must confess to not even realising there were more then the so called top 5 until I got to the third computer. The scroll bar at the bottom just didn't register at all.

There is no way the pirate bay can continue to operate in the way people will want it to now, so the visitors will fall.

Remember the heady days when they were trying to raise money to buy an island? What a disappointing end to the site. On the bright side, Supanova went and the piratebay shot up, now with the piratebay going and mininova using a filter system the time for a new upstart is now!

Jun 16th 2009 6:14AM Great idea but not so good for me with upload limits. If I upload to a cloud I only have to do it once. If I use Unite I'd have to upload to everyone that wants it sucking up my bandwidth and taking me above my limits (causing me a download slowdown - stupid Virgin), plus my upload speed sucks so if I upload to a cloud at least it's only me who's inconvenienced rather than every person that's wants to download it.

It's nice to see the creators of browsers thinking outside the box though, what with this, FireFox trying to come up with ideas about news ways to use tabs and Safari using coverflow it should be interesting to see if Microsoft can come up with anything more innovative than webslices and accelerators to regain market share.

User Account Control to be less annoying in Windows 7 (Download Squad)

Oct 9th 2008 4:54PM It's the duplication that annoys me most. I don't mind UAC as an idea but the fact that you have to agree to three separate prompts to delete a shortcut out of your start menu it way over the top. One is sufficient and far less annoying. As it is I turn it off which has the unfortunate side effect of disabling protected mode in IE7 which I'd actually rather leave on. I'm not sure exactly how these things work but I'd like to think that these two things could be separated so that I can have one off and the other on.
