Kindergarten iPad 2 program causes rift between parents and school officials in Maine (TUAW.com)

Apr 23rd 2011 3:56PM I agree with most of the comments here. Touch based UI will be the main way these kids will operate with Technology by the time they are in High School. My 2 year old can browse and watch spongebob on netflix with an iPad, count to ten and plays numerous puzzle and memory games on the iPad. My 5 year old is learning the alphabet on the iPad. iT is an amazing tool and connects with kids in a way that other technology does not.

I applaud the school for being so progressive.

Data usage sticker shock: How I learned to freak out when my daughter used my iPhone 3GS (TUAW.com)

Jun 5th 2010 1:17AM No thank you AT&T!
I will keep my 3GS with 3.1.3 (now) and 4.0 (later) on t-mobile. At least until new phone is jail broken and unlocked.
I get unlimited talk and text for 30 bucks a month (family plan) and unlimited edge (works great with stitcher, and opera, as well as push exchange email) for another 10 bucks. With taxes I pay around 45 bucks.
I then supplement my edge with my corporate sprint mifi (42.00 a month and no 5GB cap!) . I use the mifi on my iPad as well.
This is a much nicer alternative to the >130.00 dollars I was paying At&t!

Best Buy to release its own Portable Media Player (PVR Wire)

Sep 19th 2006 9:39PM to clarify, i just want a player, i can download tv sows and stuff from bittorent and not have to transcode anything. just drop on the player and play. i love my sandisk 270 but it has to transcode video and pictures, granted, the video looks great after it is done, but the file sizes are huge. if sandisk supported divx/xvid i would never give it up. overall, i will be trying one of these when it hits bestbuy....

Best Buy to release its own Portable Media Player (PVR Wire)

Sep 19th 2006 9:27PM i like it. i hope it supports xvid/divx/mpeg4 video, any idea on how much memory this player will ship with? i would be tempted to give up my 6gb sansa for this....

PVRS are great, but only when they work (PVR Wire)

Jul 31st 2006 4:29PM to be honest, the only need i have for a dvr is for some off the wall stuff i want to archive, otherwise bitorrent and an xbox running xbmc is the best pvr I have ever had. as far a stimeshifting goes. and the quality is better than my analog replaytv. I am leaning towards one of the mpeg 4 dvd recorder models though.

Yet Another Watchmen Scribe (Cinematical)

Jul 16th 2006 5:44PM this story will never work in a two hour movie, it deserves a 12 hr miniseries or beter yet a 24hr miniseries. to cram all that watchman is into a 2 hr flick will never do it justice. they should just leave this one alone...
