Argentina's money grab a threat to personal property rights (WalletPop)

Oct 23rd 2008 1:25PM The Argentinian government is Socialist. Thet's what socialists do, use other people money (and call it protection for the retirees, which is what they are telling the argentinians). Socialists Obama-Obiden can do the same thing and whatever else they want, and they already have the democrat senate and congress -- so they will have no opposition. The argentinians at least have their Congress still in the way of their Obama clone -- actually it's the other way. Socialistic "daily promise" "for the people" "share the wealth" politicians are nothing new in South America. Look at Venezuela's Chavez, Argentina's Fernandez, and years before Chile's Allende (lines for toothpaste, lines for toilet paper, high unemployment -- capital flew out of the country the day after he was elected -- plus nationalize this industry and that industry "for the people" of course)

Apple receives patent for the OS X dock (Download Squad)

Oct 14th 2008 3:00PM I think Ford missed the boat when they did not patent putting tires on the Ford Model T. They would not have to contend with Japan's auto industry if they had done it. Patents today are used for business leverage. Count on Apple's "new" patent being used if it suits them. M$ was behind the Santa Cruz lawsuits against Linux. Where there is a will (read $$$), there is a way.

Congress is screwing up -- think backstop not bailout! (BloggingStocks)

Sep 29th 2008 9:36PM The internet is a real blessing. There are so many lies coming from the "mainstream" media, which can now be cross-checked quickly. The fear mongering from the demo-c-rats in congress is a prime example. They have the numbers (no republicans needed) to pass anything they want "to save this country". They need political cover because they OWN the financial mess we are in. They had the opportunity in 2005 to avert the crisis and they voted NO. In this latest effort to "save the country" they stuffed "the solution" with pork for ACORN (Obamas baby), a prime beneficiary of the "clever" financial dealings of Freddie and Fannie -- the full info available on the net.
The financial sector may need help but NOT the political help from the democrats. They created this mess. The bailout is not a solution; it's a FRAUD to cover up a sham. That's where republicans come in. Their vote is needed to legitimize a sham. A solution is needed but NOT this one.
Mr. Liber's condescending remarks about about Ben are insulting. I wonder is Mr. Liber is an obamaton ??.
It's true millions of investors may loose out, but where was Mr. Liber and his concern in 2005 ?. Many executives deserve to go to jail for this one, and so deserve some members of congress as well.

Where were the auditors as Fannie and Freddie circled the drain? (BloggingStocks)

Sep 8th 2008 3:19PM So what's the problem ?? This is how the current system works. If the screwup is big enough the government comes in (read "the bozo taxpayers") and pays the bill. The execs "are fired" so they go on to "lead another industry". There is no personal accountability anymore in America. Our leaders then issue a statement for the masses and end of story (savings and loans disaster, ENRON, now this, more to come).

UAL bankruptcy rumors untrue: Stock plunges 76%, old news story reportedly the culprit (BloggingStocks)

Sep 8th 2008 3:03PM The "free" media is no more. It is owned by corporations, so diversity of opinions has disappeared. Personal reponsibility has also disappeared. Reporters today are a bunch of hacks steeping on each others tails to get to the top. They were supposed to be guardians of democracy, but instead they have been morphing into a cancer eating away at democracy. Just look at their performance in the political arena. Reporters are so far gone they themselves do not see it. Is it any wonder massive errors of the UAL type happen ?? They don't care. Remember the New York Times and their star reporter caught fabricating news. Is it any wonder ?? ENRON at least could be solved. How do you get rid of a malignant cancer passing itself as benign??.
