IGN: First web GTA IV review, another perfect 10 (Joystiq)

Apr 27th 2008 4:51AM I remember being suckered in by IGN's 9-point-something score for San Andreas. Rushed out to buy it, then returned it the next day wondering how anyone could give a game like that that type of score.

Rumor: E3 to bring Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy release dates, Mario Kart Wii to be unveiled (Joystiq)

Jun 5th 2007 8:07AM What some people need to realise is that companies rehash the "same old game" every couple of years because there are always new gamers coming in. Remember how you were excited when you were younger and the whole thing was new to you? The industry does not revolve around veterans who have been gaming for years, then complain when a game is:

a) too similar to its predecessor
b) too different (and then proceed to complain that it should have been more similar to it's predecessor)

'Videogame Style Guide' now available for free, for limited time (Joystiq)

May 31st 2007 4:08AM As long as magazines and websites/blogs have an in-house style guide, I guess it doesn't really matter what the book says.

By the way I don't like the "videogames" spelling, although I'm sure they decided on that spelling to avoid ambiguity, plus it would have been better than "video-games", in my opinion.

Apr 27th 2007 5:31PM It's funny how the designer used the PS3 prototype controller as an icon.

Apr 27th 2007 12:32AM Raikage,

I don't remember which is which, but Monolith and Monolith Soft are two different companies. One developed Baten Kaitos (I think) and the other publishes PC games.
