TUAW's Daily iOS App: Pinch 2 HD (TUAW.com)

May 17th 2011 11:14AM Can you do us a favor and add apps other than games into the mix. There are a ton of interesting, useful new non-game apps, and we would love to see some of them featured in your app of the day. Thanks.

HP chooses USB 3.0 over Thunderbolt (TUAW.com)

May 17th 2011 11:10AM Apple screwed up. They stuck our neck out on Thunderbolt without coordinating with other major manufacturers, and now it will be Mac Thunderbolt users who will pay the price.

Google's beautiful HTML5 guide to the Web (Download Squad)

Nov 19th 2010 8:59AM But why can't I view it in full action (including page flipping) on iPad??

Isn't the whole idea behind the Jobs refusal to support Adobe, that
HTML5 is just fine, thank you.

iPad shows the pages, but without any annimation including the
curling pageflips.

iPad's orientation lock to mute switch change will be permanent (TUAW.com)

Oct 25th 2010 11:52AM Dreadful. Just lean back or lay down in bed reading on an iPad and imagine futzing around with multi tap menus to freeze the screen the way you want it. The volume control nicely mutes with a slightly long push toward lower volume. It zooms down to mute. This change degrades the utility of the iPad, just like Apple's irrational exclusion of Flash. That bars iPad users from thousands of quality sites. At the least, we should have an option.

Five ways the App Store will change the world (TUAW.com)

Jul 11th 2008 9:00AM We love your enthusiasm, but it is seriously overstated. I've been telling bartenders about drink recipes at high speed for almost two years with my Treo on the hugely available Sprint Power Vision net (last night I had to put the Tour of France (in full smooth motion TV video) on hold while I looked up a recipe). And Treo is no ones idea of an earthshaking device.

I love my Ipod Touch and the wonderful way it functions, but many things are missing (no Flash is a ridiculous Jobs hissy fit). It's nice to have a ready source of software...but to have it be the ONLY source is awful. Finally, after having access to 50,000 or so apps for the treo, most free and easily available (most are petty, just like the ones for the iPhone), I'm excusably underwhelmed by the worldchanging software available today for the iPhone.

It's a nice thing, but let's not go bonkers.
