Farewell FireWire? (TUAW.com)

Oct 15th 2008 4:17PM If I had to choose between losing FireWire or losing the matte screen ... I'd rather lose FireWire.

I flat out can't believe Apple isn't offering the new MBP's with a matte screen? Are they nuts?

And that craptastic keyboard ... can anyone seriously touch-type on keys with so little action? Ugh!

And the trackpad on my current MBP is too big that my palms rest on it and mess me up - a larger trackpad? Disaster. WTF.

I think Apple's directly targeting the one-handed hunt-and-pecking YouTube and DVD watching college kid and has completely forsaken the high-end professionals that actually use their products to do _real_ work.

It's sad.

10 Awesome BlackBerry apps (Download Squad)

Sep 1st 2008 10:04AM Thanks for liking Blackbird, Christina! To you and all DownloadSquad readers, I'd love to hear what you all think of Blackbird and what you'd change if you could to improve it.

Entrepreneurial synchronicity defined (or "I love it when a plan comes together") (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Feb 17th 2008 8:55PM Hey, Jason, when you get a chance, would you mind reading this and letting me know what you think?

"Why is Jason referring to Mahalo as social search?"

Web developers: Crowd Fusion is hiring! (The Brian Alvey Weblog)

Jan 5th 2008 5:21PM Wow, you really know how to tempt a geek, don't you ... :-)

I wish I weren't already in the middle of a bunch of different commitments already. I'd possibly put in for an opportunity to hack with you guys, if you'd have me.

Good luck--hope you find the rockstars you're looking for!

Putting Netscape out of its misery (The Brian Alvey Weblog)

Dec 30th 2007 11:53AM The only way they'll shed that reputation is by not doing it any more.

It usually takes AOL 3-4 years to kill a brand. WIN/Blogsmith still has ... another 2 years. Sometime early 2010, I'm guessing.

Aqua Dots: another toy recall (The Brian Alvey Weblog)

Nov 8th 2007 3:28PM How much do you wanna bet that teens will be trying to buy Aqua Dots before people return it for the recall, at a premium above and beyond its original MSRP?

"Got Aqua Dots? Wanna party? txt me!"

Samantha Who? (The Brian Alvey Weblog)

Oct 17th 2007 9:47AM Christina has come a long way since Married With Children. I do have to admit I miss seeing her in those hot outfits. *nostalgia*

Big trend coming out of TechCrunch40: data normalization services (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Sep 19th 2007 2:24PM I have a hard time trusting my social networking account passwords ... let alone my _banking_ login information ... to a bunch of startup kids who hardly have a business model, let alone a security strategy to protect that information.

Before I'd use a service like Mint, I'd want to know how many hundreds of millions of dollars worth of general liability insurance their policy covers. Because the first time their servers get pwned, everyone's going to be HUGELY screwed.

What, are you channeling Dave Winer now?

Jason, how about a StartupCamp? :-)
