Len Wiseman to Direct 'Total Recall' Remake (Cinematical)
Jul 29th 2010 9:35PM I hope this comes out at the same time as the remake of Flight of the Navigator so I can get them both out of the way at once.
Web-based BitTorrent monitoring site -- scarily real, or fantastically fake? (Download Squad)
Apr 28th 2010 8:19PM I dunno guys. I'm going with the half real half fake hypothesis. The torrent list page (which lists a bunch of computers on my subnet, including my own) actually lists a valid torrent (the EXACT name of which is on my pc) for my actual IP address. That'd be a pretty huge coincidence, and it's pretty scary, actually.
Get Adobe Lightroom 3 for free! (kinda) (Download Squad)
Oct 27th 2009 6:45PM Anyone else find it ironic that the new features include tools to both get *rid* of noise, as well as *add* it.
(Yes, I understand one is garbage and one is artistic, but still...)
Swany's g.cell snowboard glove secretly doubles as Bluetooth handset (Engadget)
Aug 20th 2008 2:52AM @Cad: Nice lol...
Yeah, tech is cool and all, I love shiny things, but I'd want to be interrupted by phone calls while riding about as much as a monk would want to be interrupted by calls while meditating.
The guys who would get this would be the same guys who ask, "So what do you ride?"...
... missing the point...
Gigabyte's M912 mini convertible tablet gets priced (Engadget)
Jul 22nd 2008 3:26AM @dandy411:
I know! Horrible news! When I get my netbookish thing next month I'll go with whatever sounds reasonable for what it can do (still wondering about those Dell ones), but I'd happily pay for Fujitsu style tablet PC for 1/3 the price! (That's probably why they've been releasing statements declaring gloom and doom for the entire computing industry...)
HTC community well on its way to its own accelerated video drivers (Engadget Mobile)
Jul 22nd 2008 1:29AM Okay, so... after picking myself up off the back of the wall... that's pretty still cool for homebrew drivers. While the 3D component might be useful for some neat-o 3D-ish interface to my Vogue (Touch), I hope they can continue to produce something for 2D acceleration.
What I wonder the most about though is if this unused chip has anything to do with video recording performance. 320x240 max??? I was surprised by that. I was hoping for 640x480 @ even 15fls.
Gigabyte gets official with 8.9-inch M912V swivel screen netbook (Engadget)
Jul 20th 2008 5:11AM I've been hovering about, thinking about getting a netbook/umpc for a while and when I saw this dish I got really excited! The new cheap Dell netbooks seemed interesting, but the swivel tablet thing (for me) is worth the extra money. Like others have said, it's like a Fujitsu at half the price!
And then (cry)... after a model search on google I found out that it won't be released to the US/Canada market (of which I am the Canadian part).
DERKA!
Can we make some sort of petition? I'll pay for the domain name and hosting, seriously. If it would really change their mind that is.
This this is the best (right now haha) of all ultra-mobile worlds as far as I can tell.
Any replies?
Today's most changing video: Wii transform (Joystiq)
Apr 13th 2007 1:01AM Blargh... interesting idea, executed poorly. Disappearing polygons just to switch to the next console? That's not transforming, that's magic.
Third-party Wii component cables for under $7 (Joystiq)
Nov 27th 2006 10:21PM "Product Features of Wii Component Cable"
"# High quality cable included"
Thank god the cable is included.
"# Multiple HD modes: 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i"
Um... what?
And I noticed that a lot of HK stores do this, ESPECIALLY on ebay. They'll have something on sale for $4.99, but then shipping is supposedly $30 or whatever.
Boo! Scariest moments in gaming history (Joystiq)
Oct 31st 2006 9:17PM I can't remember when I was younger what freaked me out, but in recent memory, playing F.E.A.R. with the lights off had me pretty tense and freaked out. Oh, and the neighbors worrying hearing my surprised shouts of... surprise. :)
