Cooliris iPhone app enables NSFW mode for Google searches (Download Squad)
May 4th 2009 8:45AM umm, what is "NSFW"?
Is Google the next Pirate Bay? In a word, no. (Download Squad)
Apr 19th 2009 12:40PM @9 Generic says,
"On the other end, Pirate Bay does make an effort to facilitate the spreading of content while trying to make it difficult for law enforcement to detect illegal content (recently Pirate Bay started encrypting stuff).
This is a matter of free speech."
----------------------------------------------
** So now encryption is bad?? A person trying to prevent access to their information should be considered wrong or suspect? Hmmm, what does that mean for copy-protected media files? How about password protected information? Transfer of personal medical information?
In the future, I don't want to be *required* to defend my right to privacy. It should be assumed I have that right.

StyleTap confirms plan to bring PalmOS apps to the iPhone (Download Squad)
Jun 1st 2008 11:01AM HURRAH!!
That seals it! I'm gettin one. I'm a longtime Treo owner who was considering buying an iphone, but love all my Palm apps and games.
Question is... will Apple *approve* this software?
If they do it will sell even more iphones to people like me and also all those Palm users in medical fields where the Palm is the standard for medical applications.
Apple is still being sly about their approval process and has not been willing to say what their plans are in that regard.
Apple has a very real chance to become THE standard for mobile computing, like the "pc" became when they kept it fairly "open" to developers.
Will Apple get too greedy and repeat history?
RIAA drops lawsuit against AllofMP3 (Download Squad)
May 28th 2008 12:30AM AllofMp3, mp3sparks & the others in Russia do pay royalties, but they pay at a much lower rate than the RIAA wants. The royalties have been offered to the RIAA in the past, but they refused them.
The "gray area" seems to be, can people from outside Russia take advantage of the lower prices there.
I don't see why not. I mean, can't we purchase goods from other countries online? I've purchased shareware that way.. Companies order products from China and other countries. Purchasing goods & services at the best rate available is after all the "American Way". heh
The RIAA are extortionists and have proven it countless times.
Google for: RIAA trillions
and see what you get.
The RIAA sued AllofMp3 for $1.65 TRILLION !
They claimed that was the amount they lost in sales because of AllofMp3. ROFLOL
And we are supposed to take them seriously ?
Unfortunately, many have been forced to, partly due to weak-kneed politicians in the US.
Palm apps might be coming to the iPhone/iPod Touch (Download Squad)
Feb 24th 2008 11:57AM Being able to run Palm apps(thousands are available) would *cause* me to purchase an iPhone. I would not be able to resist any further.
As it is, the serious lack of available apps, is why I won't buy an iphone. I will stick with my Treo which can do more than the iPhone(just not as slick) or buy the new Centro.
Are you listening Apple?
Ajoka makes belt buckle, crams a video camera in it (Engadget)
Jan 12th 2008 1:02PM a wireless higher rez version with audio in a cap transmitting to a small unit (on the belt/in a purse/pack) would have me. Someday we will be transmitting live over WiMax to our webpage so friends & family can see what we are up to while on vacation / see CES / lectures / etc thru our eyes as is happens.
Amazing people are waisting their time on a belt buckle version. It had better be angled upward or it will be taking pics of the ground (asses more likely) as seen in the picture.
