Jul 29th 2009 7:23AM AFAIK, Postbox is neither free software, nor Open Source.
TB 3 is coming and one of its target is to facilitate the development, dissemination and use of extensions. Once out, I'm pretty sure that if any of the Postbox feature looks promising, it will be sooner or later available as TB extention.
BTW, Thunderbird development team is doing a great job. Check the changes in Thunderbird 3 Beta 3 to get an idea of what is going on right now:

Jan 27th 2009 12:30PM Am I the only one to think that defragmentation should be something from the dead past?
I'm still waiting for Microsoft to let me know I will never have to defrag my diskdrive again. That would be a real piece of news.
