Mar 29th 2011 5:40AM The announcement has been delayed until further notice. VW could announce their WRC program sometime this summer, and this time VW might make an announcement or 2 on who is going to drive this car.
Mar 13th 2011 6:02PM Loeb just turned down a 15 million EUR offer from VW. VW is going to spend around 90-100 million EUR on this program.
Mar 11th 2011 6:00AM Skoda originally did the WRC in the late 90s to mid 00's, but pulled out due to them not succeeding. Then again, Skoda was ran under VW management, and that actually hindered their performance. If Skoda was left to the Czech's, then I'm confident they could beat Citroen. Now Skoda is competing in the S-WRC and IRC and they won the IRC last year in the Fabia S2000 with the amazing Juho Hanninen. Remember, the WRC changed their regulations to Super 2000 based cars with 1.6T engines, so VW could just take the Fabia S2000, give or take a few WRC specific tweaks and transfer it over to the Polo body shell and call it a day. We should probably give VW the benefit of the doubt this time around. I hope they do well, but who knows for sure. Just some more information on this subject.
Mar 10th 2011 8:12PM VW is working on a massive offer for Loeb, for their WRC program. I've heard it will be around 50 million EUR, but the actual amount is a top secret.
Dec 29th 2010 2:06AM Skoda is working on a 1.6T version of the Fabia S2000 that could come out by the end of this year. I've also heard rumors of VW developing their own WRcar with that 1.6T. VW could enter the WRC in either a Golf, Polo, or Scirocco. This could happen as early as 2012 but VW doesn't have a firm date. Thats if it happens.
Oct 13th 2010 11:12PM There are rumors of Toyota using this car for a potential WRC comeback. Toyota is still deciding whether to do WRC, or a sports car program.
Oct 4th 2010 7:27PM If you have the HD package, you can watch the WRC on HDTheater.
Aug 21st 2010 3:42AM I prefer the Hulu Desktop Interface over the PS3 Hulu Plus app. Hulu desktop for the PC is quite nice, and I think it's much better.
Aug 17th 2010 2:46PM Ceton users will get a firmware upgrade, so it's all good. Check the Ceton website for more details.
Jul 27th 2010 4:17PM A JCW version is in the works JCW = John Cooper works which could have a hi-po 1.6T with AWD and agressive styling.
