SugarCRM makes the case for open source applications (Download Squad)

Dec 3rd 2005 10:10AM Since my last post about this app, I have given up on downloading it, after 5 consecutive times. My computer works fine (and probably better than Peter's 'cause I tweaked it and can dl at 100+ KB speeds, 20 connections at a time) and kept getting errors on this supposed simple dl. Don't get me wrong, it might work, but since I can't even try it out, I found a few other apps for others (even Peter) to try, like the ones I posted earlier. Everyone else who tries this app out, plz post if it worked for you. Also try the others mentioned in my prev post. (All are different companies, all of which offer their software free and I was able to dl and test out).

Nov 18th 2005 1:53PM Tried downloading one of their windows pre-compiled binaries directly off their site last night. The download kept looping at 99.3%. IMHO, it is a bunk company. Don't let the site's look fool you. Try another like Zope, Plone (See if the restrictions are right for you), Cheetah, OSCommerce, etc.
