Fever offers a hot new approach to reading feeds (Download Squad)
Jun 30th 2009 3:20PM Biggest problem is that you need to have domain *name* for Fever to run on – it’s not enough to run it on a computer and access via its IP address. As far as I can tell this is an anti-piracy tactic. Surely there must be better alternatives than this. Further to this – two emails to the author have gone unread in over 2 week. I’ll certainly be keeping my $30 and not dealing with this developer. Ever.
Apple announces Snow Leopard Up-To-Date program (TUAW.com)
Jun 15th 2009 2:20PM This was announced by Apple last Monday - get with the program!
Confirmed: Palm Pre's iTunes support is very, very hacky (Engadget)
Jun 5th 2009 3:19AM This makes me laugh - you obviously don't know what Palm are using WebKit - which is the open source version on Apple's Safari. Why does nobody look anything up before making stupid comments around here? Hmmm.

Jun 4th 2009 4:48PM Creative can sync because that's been there for YEARS - like when iTunes was still SoundJam.
There is already a non-hack method of syncing other devices to iTunes - it's the xml library file, not as convenient as the proper way but still allows competition.
Why should Apple allow other companies benefit from the tight integration that they engineered? Nobody else could be bothered to do it right so why should Apple share it if they choose not to?
Oh, and Apple/iPod/iTunes isn't anywhere close to an illegal monopoly as they haven't broken the law getting the market share that they now enjoy. They got it from hard work and providing the best product. When somebody else brings better product then they'll get the marketshare.
Everybody appears to have forgotten that having a monopoly is not illegal. Ever. Gaining or maintaining one via illegal means, however is (I'm looking at you Bill). Apple doesn't appear to have broken any Antitrust laws so no lawsuits should be on the horizon, whether they block Palm hack and force them to use the officially supported method or not.

Safari 3.0 available for Download (TUAW.com)
Jun 11th 2007 3:41PM FYI - Safari has always had auto-fill forms and has (nearly) always been faster than Gecko browsers (inc Firefox)
Microsoft Zune player and software hands-on gallery (Engadget)
Nov 3rd 2006 11:21AM But start looking at artists, genres, albums, and what have you, you'll see "depth" per stack based on how much content is available. It's an interesting and remarkable new way of quickly visually assessing where your content is (and isn't).
- I'm pretty sure that Apple has an unused patent for this idea that was supposedly going to be added the the Finder. In any case, it's certainly not a new idea and if you google hard enough, i'm sure you'll find out its history
SLA 5520 Streamium adapter on the cheap (Engadget)
Jun 27th 2006 12:00PM They can't possibly be marketing this at people with existing Streamium hardware - we are the only ones that know that none of the Streamium products actually work!

Apple Legal forces iPodder name change (TUAW.com)
Nov 14th 2005 12:56PM The point is that Apple doesn't want the iPod to become 'Sellotape' or 'Hoover' or even 'Walkman' for that matter. Sometimes a brand gets *too big* and becomes interchangable with the type of product rather than the actual product. You don't want people calling a Sony MP3 Walkman an iPod for instance - you can lose a brand very quickly that way - how many people still call a personal cassette player a walkman - I sure do.
