Oct 15th 2008 10:06PM Physical content is still VERY important. The choices are not limited like they are with so called "digital" formats. You aren't at the mercy of crappy or crowded servers or poor broadband service. You can easily take a DVD or Blu-ray out of one machine, carry it to another room, carry it to the neighbor's house, loan it to a friend, etc. If you damage your disc, you know how to easily buy a new one. If you accidentally delete your file or your drive dies, you have to figure out how and IF you can get it replaced by the vendor that sold you the file.

Blu-ray itself is doing just fine. NetFlix has plenty of titles rolling in, and over the past few months, more than 50% of our rentals have been Blu-ray. Since it's not THE format, it should not be problematic to license it as the new recordable format for computer storage. But that assume that Sony won't be a dick about it.

Jun 29th 2008 10:49AM I don't understand Apple thinking here. Why move away from a domain name that has branding connected to it? me.com doesn't say "I use Mac's". Why would anyone who likes to say "Mac's are cool and I use them" want to stop using that domain name and instead use me.com, which says nothing about the person?
