Oct 24th 2007 3:52AM Looks like this is only available in the US English version of Gmail (a lot of new Gmail features appear first in the US English locale) - I use the UK English version, and there's no option. But, if I change the locale to US English, I get the option. No idea if it will remain enabled after I switch back to UK English though...

Sep 19th 2007 4:30AM What do you mean "even a UK English version" - it's refreshing that Google recognises the difference and doesn't do the same as Microsoft and Apple by assuming that we speak precisely the same dialect as in the USA.

Apr 4th 2007 9:37AM The EU is investigating this because at the moment a user in the UK is blocked from buying songs from the French iTunes store (which is about 20p cheaper). EU law specifies that there should be a common market within the EU, and companies should not refuse to sell something to somebody because of their address.

It's comparable to there being an iTunes store for each US State, and a Californian user not being able to buy from the Texan store because their address is in Texas.
