Monster "HDMI Difference" scam still kickin' in Fry's Electronics (Engadget HD)

Mar 23rd 2009 12:15PM If this comparison is labeled as a Monster "HDMI difference," while it is a little sketchy, they can probably talk their way out of a "false advertising" claim. They can claim that they are merely showing the difference between using Monster's HDMI cable and a cable most people use, the composite cable.

From reading your post, it does not appear that they claim that this is a comparison between Monster's HDMI cable and a competitor's or a generic HDMI cable. So really they are showing off what an HDMI connection can do versus an inferior connection. While this is a little sketchy, since Monster is making the consumer believe that its branded cable is the main reason for the difference in quality, it's not as sketchy as you are implying.
