The 360's new (and improved) Netflix experience (Joystiq)

Jul 24th 2009 5:00PM That's right, the party group thing is incredibly lame. The military moved me to the other side of the country, away from my friends and family. My need to spend time with them virtually, be it playing games our watching our favorite movies together, is the lamest thing I've ever heard of. I should just have them pay for airline tickets to come out here any time I want to watch a movie with them.

It All Started With Animal Behavior (DMOZ Blog)

Mar 31st 2008 2:11PM Is there any way to submit new sites to DMOZ.org?

The "Submitting A Site To The Open Directory Project" page says that I should use the "Suggest A URL" link on and carefully fill out the form on that page. Where does that link lead? Back to the "Submitting A Site To The Open Directory Project" help page. Visiting the FAQ also directs me to the "Submitting A Site To The Open Directory Project" page.

I attempted to use a "Contact Us" form, but couldn't find one anywhere on this site, which is why I am writing this as comment on this entirely unrelated blog entry.

Microsoft launches MSN Direct for Windows Mobile (Download Squad)

Feb 11th 2008 12:26PM It might be worth noting that it only works with Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone and Windows Mobile 6 Standard. My poor 8525 refuses to install it. :(

New Zunes already hitting store shelves (Engadget)

Nov 8th 2007 8:56AM @KJ
The wireless sync does not require it to be docked. When you are within range of your network, you can manually kick off a sync. When plugged into external power (not necessarily docked), it will kick off an automatic sync on its own.

This rumor was debunked on Zune Insider a few days after it started.

How many television sets in your home? (AOL TV)

Sep 22nd 2006 1:27PM My wife and I have five TVs (all SDTVs)

1 in the living room
1 in the bedroom
1 in the basement
2 in the second bedroom (1 is unplugged but works)

Lost gamers to learn the meaning behind the numbers (AOL TV)

Jul 26th 2006 10:36AM I thought part of the numbers were explained in the book 'Bad Twin.' The digits 8-15-16 were given meaning within the context of that novel.

Did anyone read it? Am I way off?

Tom Goes to the Mayor: Surprise Party (AOL TV)

Jul 24th 2006 7:40AM I'm one of those that don't find this show funny at all, and I'll tell you why (my reason can't be categorized as a "reasonable argument"): Tom is an overall nice guy that gets abused on a regular basis by his beast of a wife, those rotten kids of his, and the mayor. They step all over him and take advantage of him.

Part of the humor of this show is derived from the relationships between Tom and the others that I mentioned, but I just can't find the humor in it.

I'm probably taking it a bit too seriously. Like I said, it isn't reasonable, but that's my reason for not watching.

Firefly: Serenity (Parts 1 and 2) (AOL TV)

Jun 2nd 2006 12:06PM "Secondly, you shouldn't go into these episodes thinking the movie was a continuation of what happened in the series. Off the top of my head, there are notable changes, such as Simon and River being introduced in the movie, while Book is on some other planet, having already known Mal for a long time."

I'm not sure sure I can agree with that statement. Serenity certainly is a continuation of Firefly. Simon and River were not introduced in Serenity, the details of Simon's rescue of River were shown for the first time. It also seems that the Shepard left the ship to live on that planet after travelling with Mal's crew for a while. There is also a comic book mini-series name Serenity which bridges the gap between the show and the movie, like explaining what happened to the "two by two hands of blue" that River mentioned a couple of times.

Back on topic, starting with the episodes "Serenity Part 1 and 2" is the right way to go. The story of her crew can't be told properly if you don't start there.
