First Look: Typepad for the iPhone (TUAW.com)
Jul 11th 2008 1:35AM Actually, a WordPress app is not available, and no timeframe has been given. It's worth pointing out, because the TypePad app can be downloaded right now, today, and it took a lot of work for that to be true.
First Look: Typepad for the iPhone (TUAW.com)
Jul 10th 2008 8:13PM Right now, we have Blog It, a TypePad-powered web app for iPhone, as well as iMT, a Movable Type-specific plugin that provides a web interface for the iPhone, both of which are freely available. The native application doesn't post yet to Movable Type blogs, but we've heard loud and clear from MT users that it's something you want! :)

Jun 5th 2006 10:58PM Thanks for the update, and sorry for the disgruntled tone there. Blogging is hard work. ;)
Mugshot: Red Hat's open source social networking site (Download Squad)
Jun 1st 2006 4:00PM Um, you do know that we at Six Apart run LiveJournal, which has been totally open source since being founded 7 years ago? And that the infrastructure behind LiveJournal runs parts of sites like Bloglines, Wikipedia, Slashdot, and dozens of other large-scale sites? And that there are millions of people not just on the livejournal.com service, but on the many clones of the service?
C'mon, if you're going to call us out, at least get close to the facts.
LiveJournal doesn't care how you feel about breastfeeding or anything else (but Six Apart does) (The Social Software Weblog)
May 25th 2006 6:38PM Hate to interrupt all the unsubstantiated allegations, but if you're interested in a more official response, there's some info here:

I'd think it was irresponsible if someone said "Marshall Kirkpatrick doesn't care about facts", just like I know that the headline of this post is senationalistic, incorrect and irresponsible.
I guess AOL doesn't care how you feel about fact checking or anything else.
Denton calls out SixApart; Micropayments still DOA; Ross with the checkbook says "wha-wha-what?!?!" to Facebook for $2B; more on Newsvine (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Apr 2nd 2006 9:47PM "Denton calls out SixApart. I'm so glad I trusted Brian when he insisted that we create Blogsmith as the foundation of Weblogs, Inc. If we had put our faith in those guys we would still be on blog number 10 or 15--like Nick is!"
Amusing, but not accurate. There's a number of blog networks with blogs numbering the dozens or hundreds that are all powered by Movable Type, and of course many companies run blog farms internally, ranging up to the thousands of blogs. Nick hardly called us out -- he's looking for people with expertise to help him, and he'll find them. If you get stuck and Brian's busy or gets sick, who fixes Blogsmith? Who knows how to work with it? Who's scaled it up to sites larger than your own?

Jan 11th 2006 2:43PM Nice coverage, and thanks for the props to memcache -- our team's always really excited when somebody new makes use of its caching.

Mar 17th 2004 2:21PM I should explain, if controlling post access *did* require filling out a whole bunch of forms and checkboxes, it would certainly fail. I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment there. I'm not certain that there aren't other mechanisms for enforcing access control, however.
