LGJ: The Anti-Trust Game (Joystiq)

Jun 18th 2009 5:07AM Just be glad it's only $60.
Around here (in Finland) the "standard" price is 69 €. I'll let you do the calculations yourself...

Akamai sees more publishers switching to HD video online (Engadget HD)

Apr 25th 2009 7:47AM Don't feel so bad about your netbook, because I haven't yet seen a computer capable of playing back youtube HD without a hiccup.

That said, Vimeo HD is usually pretty fast, but as always, it depends a lot on the content. (read: it varies a lot)

Sarah Connor not as strong as the Ghost Whisperer or the wife swapper (AOL TV)

Mar 16th 2009 7:24AM it's a shame, really.

TSCC is simply put the best show currently on air, despite the rather awkward name.

Elecom's new TK-FCP004 ultra-slim keyboard is minimalism at its finest (Engadget)

Mar 4th 2009 2:45AM and How is that a bad thing?
How else are you supposed to play frets-on-fire?

and what really bugs me is all those unnecessary keys eating up the space from spacebar. FN key should stay in laptops and what are the other ones again? oh and the right shift is just downright minimal.

other than that, it looks pretty good.

Sarah Connor Chronicles is THIS close to being canceled (AOL TV)

Oct 2nd 2008 5:47AM What show are you guys watching? Because this show is the best thing on air.

I can see how the name, or the idiotic intro can put people off from ever checking it out - but I don't understand how people can just "drift away" from the show. It's not like there is a better show out there at the moment.

I don't get the accusations on how the show is "slow". Let's see, they've killed someone dramatically, developed couple characters into new directions (cameron lies etc...), the reveal of T-1001, possible connection with John and Cameron ... all this in what... two episodes?

Big Versus: GRID (Big Download)

Jun 4th 2008 11:15AM Here's a tip; if you are going to do any kind of visual comparison based on screenshots, make sure that you are not using compressed-as-h**l jpeg images.

Even if you are not judging the visuals by using the screenshots, at least provide us with the proper material to back up your statements.

Microsoft to kill Hotmail Outlook Express support (Download Squad)

Apr 19th 2008 6:18AM There's just a tiny problem with this ... windows live mail doesn't install to half of the machines I own!

Windows Mail does work, though, but is it getting the same treatment as OE?

Couple of 'Cloverfield' Alternate Endings Make Their Way to the Internets (Cinematical)

Apr 7th 2008 4:20PM As Paul Nicholson pointed out, the camera would have to be one that uses a MiniDV -tapes. And to be hones, a whole lot of cameras still use MiniDV tapes. Just because they are tapes doesn't mean they are automatically worse than the fully digital setups. In fact, most cheap consumer cameras use SD cards and Hard Drives while prosumer cameras still use MiniDV or such.

I'm no expert, but from my experience, the overlapping of the video material is a common problem when re-using tapes. Everytime you start/stop the recording, there is a slight delay before the camera acts. But during that time, the tape moves ahead slightly, leaving behind bits of the old material. Usually only few seconds long, max, though.

Big shock - Lost uses fictional phones (AOL TV)

Feb 21st 2008 5:59PM I'm really hoping that you just forgot the "sarcasm" tag from this entry. Who on earth thought that there'd be a market for touchscreen sat-phones?

And as far as the tracking thing goes, you obviously didn't pay enough attention when watching the show last time. That Faraday dude (daniel?) said that the Ship was actually sending them the gps coordinates of the gps trackers that the other freightees(?) were wearing. So the phone just displayed the data, nothing more.
