XBLA 'Arcade NEXT' promo includes Trials Evolution April 18, Minecraft May 9 (Joystiq)
Mar 22nd 2012 3:10PM There are some very highly rated indie Minecraft clones (Castle Miner Z is supposedly ok). Has anyone here tried one? Also, how does such blatanty clonery happen - isn't that, like, illegal?
Also - Fable Hero's looks great - I say so because I love local coop.
Rumor: Shenmue 1 and 2 HD finished, hitting XBLA/PSN (Joystiq)

SoA is a blast. ShenMue included a bit too much drudgery and wandering about. I was always like, "what am I supposed to be doing, exactly?" It was really cool in the way it totally reminded me of a Japanese suburb. Especially for the 90's.
Rayman Origins is actually profitable for Ubisoft (Joystiq)

My kids (11 and 8) haven't gone near a lego or kart racing game since this came out.
They love that the goal is always "Go to the right". The difficulty is just right, never leaving you with a near-impossible jump, nor wondering "what are we supposed to do now?"

This game's couch co-op is the most fun I've had with my xbox 360 - my kids and I devour this game regularly. At its current price of $30, it is a must buy.
I pray for a sequel or lots of DLC. Every night, right after I pray for the death of my enemies.
Konami's new service has a fake girlfriend email you about her day (Joystiq)

The Japanese media version of the perfect girlfriend is a cute-as-a-button girl with an ear-peircingly squeaky voice, and a backpack that that has a secondary function as a pink teddy bear.
I just saved you 400 yen.

Actually Japan's young people are a particularly randy bunch. What should be said is that Japan leads the world in cultural quirkiness, and it's no contest.
I figured this out one evening commuting on a train from Kawasaki to Tokyo, and I saw no less two middle aged businessmen reading pornographic manga. It was one of those "not in Kansas any more" moments.
WRUP: Coming to America (Joystiq)

I really want to try this game again, and I keep getting my ass handed to me. Is there a resource out there with some basic tips to help me start off on the right foot (not a walkthrough, just pointers).

Jan 7th 2012 8:22AM I decided to put Skyrim down after dozens of hours and play a new game, "Skyrim As A Chick (who doesn't use magic or shields)"
Plus a game which my kids refer to as "Rayman Oranges" - lots of fun (and less frustrating) with 3 people.

This seems to be a very single-player-y list. I'm also surprised that Dark Souls wasn't higher. I didn't like it personally, but only because I sucked at it. I may try to get a prescription for Ritalin, then try again.
