BlueTie AJAX email, calendar, collaborator (Download Squad)
Nov 5th 2006 3:30PM Seems nice.
Just played around with the free version for about an hour.
I'm kind of addicted to Backpack for corroboration and TRUMBA for calendering. We've been with them for long enough that our pricing is much lower than they currently charge new users. Our company uses TRUMBA regularly.
Off the top of my head, the biggest challenge I see with this product is that it is not very simple to share a calender event with multiple people. You have to create the event, and invite people to it before it shows on their personal calender.
The other thing that strikes me as odd is that when someone does accept the invitation and the event shows on their calender, if you have all your employees shared (so you can see their schedules) then the event will show up multiple times on one calender. So if you have ten people you've scheduled the event on, it will show up TEN TIMES on the shared space.
THAT is very weird and confusing.
Though I will spend some more time with this because I really do WANT to like this. It seems like a perfect fit for 99% of what we do.

Mad Catz to unveil Xbox Live Arcade Stick for Xbox 360 (Engadget)
Aug 20th 2006 12:06PM As to the X-Arcade Stick ... directly from their web site:
"We are receiving daily inquires regarding Xbox 360 adapter availability and if you weren't already aware of it, Microsoft™'s prohibitive policy for third-party controller support will drastically delay any releases from 3rd-party hardware makers like us.
We currently do not have a locked release date for an XBOX™ 360 adapter , but will keep you posted. Rest assured that any news of progress on one will be posted in our newsletter first. "
So this looks to be the only game in town right now.

Nike and Apple Launch Nike+iPod Sport Kit (for real) (Engadget)
Jul 13th 2006 12:30PM I was watching some financial news last night and there was some interesting things about this product:
(1) The technology is being introduced into every single ONE of Nike's shoe lines ... AIR, FREE, etc
(2) APPLE has no desire to do this with any other company. It will only work with NIKE shoes.
(3) Neither company has budgeted any monies for a "campaign". They will be relying entirely on buzz and word of mouth.
(4) The gentleman doing the reporting used the devise extensively and said it worked flawlessly and exactly as expected.
(5) He was so impressed with the product that he said it has the abilty to destroy, or severly curtail, the market for treadmills and/or fitness center running areas ... its that accurate.

Navio makes good on promise to "unlock iPod" (Engadget)
May 23rd 2006 3:09PM Maybe I'm missing something here, but didn't the article say the whole purpose of this was to let owners of iPods be able to use content from other services (like Plays for Sure) on their iPods.
Why would Apple have a problem with that? You aren't breaking their DRM ... just tricking the other content into thinking its on a Plays for Sure device.
