Google devs reveal Chrome OS will have media player (Engadget)
Jan 22nd 2010 9:41AM My money is on an extension of Picasa that organizes all media (nit just pics and video), plays them of course ... and shares them over your network. Plus, it's already got a web element for pushing media online.
Chrome OS security will make Google's ads inescapable (Download Squad)
Nov 25th 2009 10:06AM I can't help but feel that this is somewhat of a straw man attack on Chrome OS. First, Google has never made any effort to fight such plugins in Firefox. They've never even complained about them. Further, they've made it clear that Chrome and Chrome OS isn't about making money. It's about making the internet more usable. Finally, remember that Chrome OS is open sourced. Google has repeatedly stated that if there's anything in it that someone doesn't like, they can change it.
Ask DLS: Now that you've seen Chrome OS do you still care? (Download Squad)
Nov 19th 2009 8:14PM Ummm, I guess I'm the only one completely stoked. Totally interested.
A lot of people said, "Meh" about Google Chrome, and it's already had a huge impact on the browser scene. I think Chrome OS is going to have some huge implications as well. Obviously, it's not for everyone, but Google was pretty clear that they didn't want it to be for everyone. I think it's going meets the need of a HUGE segment.

Parents who reject vaccines create public health risk (ParentDish)
Mar 23rd 2008 6:45PM I'm going to call BS because all the "rational" thinking, scientific observing commentors failed to do so. How do kids who don't get vaccinated (and thus are more susceptible to a disease) endanger kids who do get vaccinated (and thus should have immunity to those diseases) ?
Google Maps too detailed for one mom (ParentDish)
Feb 22nd 2008 9:19AM Sounds more like it was the result of Google Street View (but it's hard to say.) Google Street View imploys special cars that take pictures as they drive down the street. If it's visible from the road, it ends up on the street view map, although I've heard that they've started blurring more out now. These pictures can be quite detailed.
DreamHost's $7.5M billing accident: "Um, Whoops." (Download Squad)
Jan 16th 2008 12:24AM I was affected ... Like many of the others, I thought DreamHost acted quickly and appropriately. Billing accidents happen. No big deal.
