Thoughts on the Doctor Who Easter special (AOL TV)

Apr 13th 2009 6:53PM I liked it. Now that the stench of RTD and his teletubbie master is lifting from the show the quality is picking up.

No ham-handed political message.
No piss-poor understanding of science such as how gravity works.

I would give it a 4.5 star. I just wish they would have kept Michelle Ryan around. I think it would have been an awesome opportunity to have a black-hat companion.

The doctor always filled with righteous indignation about violence and especially the military yet he was killed more being than any person in the history of earth. (Heck how many Dalek homeworlds and fleets has he destroyed.)

There would be some great storytelling with him confronting his darker nature.

So ... IS Hilary Swank hot? (AOL TV)

Jan 23rd 2009 8:36PM Not.

She looks like a female william dafoe.

New York Times article on Russell T. Davies (AOL TV)

Jun 17th 2008 4:26PM “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

Russell T Davis tenure on Doctor Who was marked both ground breaking highs and abysmal lows. He brought us the wide eyed innocence of Rose. Martha Jones the first non-white in major recurring role of the series who as Doctor Jones to his Doctor Smith was a pairing of equals. And of course the ever scene stealing Capt Jack Harkness.

At the same time he gave us stories with heart wrenching stories, and a deep understanding condition they were also rift with plot holes and a lack of understanding of basic science.

He was not afraid to tackle stories about pollution, racism, diet fads and even cell phone. Unfortunately he was rather ham-handed and one dimensional in his treat of the complex issues.

At times he would display and almost pathological hatred of the ‘traditional’ ways. His stories are full of his hatred of Politicians, Corporations, Religion and especially the military.

His view of the world was skewed just as badly as “Leave it to Beaver”. In Gridlock (S03Ep03) for instance there are dozen of cars stuck in a traffic jam, yet there is not one human, same race, opposite sex couple. He also deliberately tried to push buttons such as in Torchwood when he stated the Virgin Mary’s immaculate conceptions was due to aliens, or when Capt. Jack kicks over crosses and spits on a church.

But to dismiss him as a ‘Gay’ author would be a great disservice. The first episode of the new series Rose, is simply the best story of Doctor Who ever written. His reworking of the Daleks, his use of the haunting Time-Lord melody are nothing short of brilliant.

His work on Doctor Who has made it a better show, and I wish him well on his new endeavor.

Cavemen: Her Embarrassed of Cavemen (series premiere) (AOL TV)

Oct 3rd 2007 1:15PM "As a liberal progressive brought up in the northeast,"

wtf is a liberal progressive. There is no such thing.

That's like saying you are a promiscuous vigrin.

Anyway, caveman. I almost laughed when they played the wii. Almost. Even carpoolers and 3 or 4 jokes in it.

Family Guy: Blue Harvest (season premiere) (AOL TV)

Sep 24th 2007 12:39PM Not bad.

I'm glad he at least admitted Robot Chicken did it first, and quite frankly, was alot funnier.

Still it did have some stuff, like the griswalds, dr. who and the pimped Tie were great.

Others like the urban R2, potsmoking c3po were just lame.

And yes bush joke at 3 mins in, along with a republican and Christian jokes. And of course no Hillary or Obama jokes.

And wow, what a lot of pedophile jokes. Even a pedophile love song.

But then I guess it's true about writing what you know, right Seth?

Family Guy's tribute to Star Wars premieres tonight -- VIDEO (AOL TV)

Sep 23rd 2007 7:48PM I just hope it's hope he gets off his liberal horse already.

Last season was the same thing
He doesn't like: Bush, Republicans, Bush, The Church, Bush, the south, Bush, White Men and Bush.

I get it already. Ho Ho Ho. funny.

Next joke please

Studio 60 went off the air for doing the same damn thing.

Lets see. I'm going to peer into my crystal ball and say that Vader is Bush or Cheney.
And I bet he can't go 10 minutes without a Bush bashing.

David Chase talks about The Sopranos finale (AOL TV)

Jun 12th 2007 3:43PM Imaging the final screen in Gone with the Wind.

Scarlet runs down the stairs. "But what about me"
Rhett: "Frankly my dear.."

People would deman thier money back.
Well HBO. I want the $15 a month I've paid.
The only reason I got HBO was for the Sopranos.

85 hours and no ending.

This show will go down on one of the "Top 10 over rated shows"
We was being clever, he was just a hack. Plot ends dangling all over. Stories about minor characters that filled an episode

Fuck you Chase.
And fuck you HBO, cancelled.

You're no cool, You're lame

The Office: Safety Training (AOL TV)

Apr 13th 2007 8:08AM "how many of you would have stood up for your girlfriend to Sea Monster?"

I'm a whitecollar worker who works at a power company in the south. Lots of Blue collar workers. Actually more like red collar, as in in-bred rasict rednecks.

I've been at functions with my wife when she's gotten rude comments. And yeah I do stand up.
I even punch one guy. Damn near broke my wrist doing it.

As for the episode, I actually didn't get the watermellon joke until now.

The shun/unshun thing was excellent.

Looking back at season 1 I hated dwight, esp when he stole Jim sale.
Then they made him just wierd like with the farm.
Now Dwight is excentric, and brilliant at it.

I will be using the shun/unshun at work

Here's why 30 Rock was renewed and Studio 60 won't be (AOL TV)

Apr 5th 2007 11:11PM Wow, Bob.... Bitter?

30 Rock can slam religion and republicans and still be fun.

Studio 60 is just a condescending show.

Get over yourself
