Bubbles turns web apps into desktop apps (Download Squad)

Feb 19th 2008 1:50AM The concept is not bad. But if you don't want to be beaten just at the beginning by apps like prism or fluid you should work on your web appearance.
A buggy application, a not working forum (a three liner sql error message since days), no help in view unified with a not responding contact address. Only some cryptic developer page. Nice impression.
Sorry, but how one should have confidence that this is not only a big bubble.

Dec 20th 2007 8:23AM Whoever said "It's still a lightweight and fast application launcher." didn't even install or used that beast.

It has got a lame, fat duck.

Jul 21st 2007 2:54PM Nice. But instead of introducing new features they should remember their core business: search. And eventually give us the possibility to search the feeds ...

Feb 20th 2007 2:30PM Nice program, really. It has a little limitation. It cannot import pictures larger than 10000 pixels (horizontal or vertical). Maybe it's not a problem for all but for one who wants to catalogue panorama-photos it is.

Easily access your photo's EXIF data (Download Squad)

Two apps I know:

Panorado Flyer

iTag takes the coordinates via clipboard or kmz/kml from Google Earth. It can export the tagged photos to Google Earth and works correctly with the ITPC-Standard. Nice tool.

Downloading music, movies via P2P not illegal in Italy (Download Squad)

Jan 29th 2007 3:48AM This sentence is based upon a former law not valid any more. It took some time for the sentence because of the filed appeal. In the meantime there have been enacted new European laws more restrictive. So this sentence has nearly no value (only for cases still open). Unfortunately the referenced article of Associated Press doesn't mention this "little difference".

I think before spreading these kind of messages some should do a better research and look for more sources.

Moving iTunes (music and library data) to a new machine (Download Squad)

Jan 18th 2007 7:32AM It's much easier.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~smulleke/2004/06/10/index.html#post200406101029

Short:
- do backup ... bla, bla
- Shrinking the iTunes Music Library.itl to zero bytes (NOT deleting it).
- Replace in a text editor all paths of iTunes Music Library.xml.
- Start iTunes and it will automatically import your iTunes Music Library.xml.

That's it. Done several times and there were never problems.
