Diet Soda Linked to Weight Gain, Says Study (That's Fit)
Jul 5th 2011 10:01PM Exactly. American Crystal Sugar spent $1,262,548 in Lobbying in 2010. OpenSecrets.Org. "In recent years, however, American Crystal Sugar PAC expenditures have grown exponentially, reaching $2.1 million during the 2008 election cycle. The company's PAC generally directs more of its money to Democratic candidates than Republican candidates. Also in recent years, the company has increased its federal lobbying expenditures significantly, spending between $1 million and $2 million in 2008 and 2009."

Delta Air Lines charges returning soldiers for checked bags (Gadling)
Jun 8th 2011 12:28AM Will never fly Delta again. Perhaps if it was a Delta jet blown through the Twin Towers they might have had a different perspective. What a pathetic statement for an "American" company.
FDA Plans to Limit Salt in Foods in Gradual Phase-Down (Politics Daily)
Apr 22nd 2010 8:33AM Welcome to Miami Vice 2010 starring Don Barack Obama Johnson. What's that white powder in your bag, sir? Step away from the stove and nobody gets hurt.
But what about the ingredients that cause obesity and cancer?
What about glutens? There to simply stimulate the appetite.
What about hydolyzed corn syrup?
How about rbGH?
How about estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, zeranol, trenbolone acetate, and melengestrol acetate. Estradiol and progesterone are natural female sex hormones; testosterone is the natural male sex hormone; zeranol, trenbolone acetate and melengesterol acetate - all FDA approved for use in food - Mr. FDA, you don't think that has anything to do with 6 year old girls built like Anna Nicole Smith, 3 year old toddlers menstruating and 10 year old boys with breasts bigger than Valerie Bertinelli's?
But salt and sugar??? Ah, sorry, I forgot - Monsanto, ConAgra and the pharmaceutical companies don't have a hand in those two, but they did in Obama's campaign.
I've got two containers of Morton's Salt in my kitchen and *I'm* not afraid to use it. Bring it on.

Endangered National Parks (AOL Travel News)
Mar 31st 2010 10:10AM With Lisa Jackson as the head of the EPA now, what do we expect? She was the former head of the DEP in New Jersey, hosting more Superfund sites than most of the US, where the Garden State Turnpike and Parkway wreak of stench and smog from local industries out of control. Been through that State lately? She couldn't even clean up her own little corner of the world and now we're expecting her to make improvements to the environment of the entire United States? BO, what were *you* thinking?

Ask the AKC Animal Behaviorist: Help! My Cat Is Peeing All Over the House (Pawnation OLD)
Mar 14th 2010 9:56AM Please take the cat to the vet. Generally if a cat goes out of the box, but near it, it could possibly be a medical problem - cats with kidney problems and such have a hard time in the "scrunching" position and opt to go outside, but as close as they can. They may be in pain and simply cannot assume the position. A solution to that is obviously a trip to the vet, but invest in a larger litter box. For my cat with kidney failure, I'd made him a large box out of cardboard and lined it with large garbage bags. However, since then, they've now started to make bigger boxes specifically for the above reason.
As a cat ages, he may also become more sensitive to the smells of a litter box that's not been cleaned, so perhaps a daily regimen of cleaning the box might be needed, or one of those that clean themselves if that's feasible.
The cat may also simply not care for the scent or feel of the litter. Many don't like the different options available out there now - try unscented, clay, the "Daily News or Mews" (made out of newspaper) or one made from pine, the crystals, or something like that.
If the cat urinates far away from the box, it's generally a behavioral issue, and he's objecting to something and trying to get your attention. Perhaps he needs more privacy with his box - try getting one of the covered ones. Good luck.
Chinese mastermind behind the Google hack found, government links discovered (Download Squad)
Feb 28th 2010 6:40PM This is the biggest crock of propaganda ever spewed out of the White House. Google was a major contributor to the Obama campaign. China has the largest Internet population in the world. The *supposed* attack on Google was not sophisticated, if there was one at all which most with half a brain in the US understand. The CIA, SS, APNIC & CERT were all well aware of the so called port scans and "alleged" hacks supposedly originating from "China" and have been so for years, and have done nothing - the block of IP addresses they supposedly came from have contact information that is invalid, and could have easily been set up by anyone, anywhere. APNIC is well aware the IP address is registered with invalid information (FYI, APNIC is in Australia). After speaking with APCERT, there have been no port scans or reported hacks since. It is, after all, good for the US economy to sell security software and keep whatever software developers that are left here in the US in work. And why should China worry about it - they do, after all, own 51% of Symantec. The first report of these hacks and scans came from a supposed "Congressional Aide" on some hokey political site over a year ago. This is nothing new. China has the world's largest Internet population in the world, and Google stands to lose astronomical amounts of potential revenue with porn being their biggest money generating source. Google forgets China is their *customer* and regardless of what WE want and like, it is China's choice what *they* want and like, and certainly not Hillary Clinton's. And frankly, China should not and does not care, and will hopefully take it for the stupidity it really is, since there has been NO substantiation to Google's claim - no details, no information except to say it happened. C'mon now.

Obama Asks Former Campaign Manager David Plouffe to Help with Midterm Elections (Politics Daily)
Jan 24th 2010 5:44PM Nah, they didn't vote for "hope" - they voted for *change*, remember? And that is exactly what they will have left IF we survive this administration. Can't say the campaign promise was a lie.
