Having replaced XP Home on my Acer Aspire ONE (AO150) with RC1, I can tell you that RC1 performs better than XP. It starts/shuts down faster, is much snappier with programs (Office 2007 as a benchmark), and seems to use less memory overall.

The version you get when you "upgrade" from XP to RC1 is "Ultimate", so when it comes out at XMas, I'll buy it...it's that good.

Also, funny username, speaking of things that fail.

Feb 1st 2009 9:30PM I "upgraded" an old P4/512MB RAM Compaq desktop, and the only thing that I couldn't get to work, that previously worked on XP was a Lexmark printer.

The driver installs OK, but the printer simply doesn't print...I can't even get it to print with a generic driver.

Even still, Win7 runs like a charm freshly installed. Even on the older slower system. Way better than XP Home Premium SP2, etc...

When it comes out retail, I may just buy it for my Acer Aspire One.
