Doctor Who: Journey's End (season finale) (AOL TV)

Aug 1st 2008 10:28PM A good season, and a very troubling episode. I still wish he had respected Donna enough to just let her die. It's hard to re-watch the earliier episodes of this season knowing all of the character development she went through was simply wiped away. I'm holding out hope that huge ring meant something, and she'll show up sometime in the future in some capacity. I know how I would write it!

Battlestar Galactica: Revelations - VIDEO (AOL TV)

Jun 15th 2008 7:54PM I was drunk when I wrote that - I meant to say, I don't usually take to the keys when I watch an episode of a show I like to complain about how the creators decided to handle it. In this case, I felt a bit cheated about the way we got to the end. I would have liked a bit more about the reactions to the Final 4, and felt it was just so rushed with no sense of how much time had passed.

With two days reflection, I'm ready for a re-watch.

I love the show, but I guess my disappointment in part is because I'm sad that the Earth they found was destroyed. I was also a big fan of the original series, and felt the disappointment of two rag tag fleets.

The late night shows: first night back (AOL TV)

Jan 3rd 2008 5:11PM The Network Time Killers is a throwback to the last time in 1988 there was a writer's strike, and Letterman had to kill time. I don't think it will be on again, but it was a nice throwback to those of us who were watching then.

The late night shows: first night back (AOL TV)

Jan 3rd 2008 12:29PM Letterman and Conan looked great with beards. Then again, I'm bearded.

Letterman phoned it in, and it's sad for me to see him just going through the motions. I gave up and switched to Leno, who was much more interesting without wires. The questions from the audience seemed planted, and I wonder how they can do that without writers.

But, Conan, Conan was awesome. I'm paying the price today for staying up so late to watch, but he was funny as he flailed. He looked kind of uncomfortable, which is an interesting thing. His ad-libs were sharp, the bit with Guitar Hero was funny, and was he serious about the thing with his wife?

With all of it, though, how are they getting cues to the control room and so on? Don't there have to be scripts for that kind of thing so everyone is on the same page?

Journeyman: Blowback (AOL TV)

Dec 6th 2007 11:00PM What a shame that the television industry can't figure out a way to sell their product. I can't wait for the day when they produce a complete show, and then sell it on a variety of different platforms. Decisions on whether or not to continue could be made on whether it attains a large total audience.

Bionic Woman: Paradise Lost (AOL TV)

Oct 5th 2007 12:35AM It grew on me. I didn't like the pilot so much, but this felt more interesting, and seemed more about character development seeing as the terrorist attack of the week was pretty much background stuff.

And of course, Bionic Woman is pretty much background stuff. I worked while it was on, watching on one computer while slaving away at another. On that level, it's a pretty good way to pass the time.

It was odd, though. I watched on NBC.com and there were no ads at all.

The Daily Show: September 25, 2007 (AOL TV)

Sep 26th 2007 4:29PM The Daily Show is one of the only places you'll ever see someone like Morales, because the other shows wouldn't deem him important or significant enough. A lot of people get their news from the Daily Show, and it's because Stewart is willing to present new ideas in the form of these interviews.

The Daily Show: September 25, 2007 (AOL TV)

Sep 26th 2007 11:42AM "I couldn't afford to keep my subscription to all the basic Bolivian newspapers."

You're a writer on an Internet blog. You can't googlenews the word "Bolivian president?" I don't usually take issue with TVSquad writers, but you could do some research. Morales is in New York because of the United Nations General Assembly meeting, the same reason why the Iranian president is in.

I second the above comment. That was one of the best interviews I've ever seen, because it was a huge risk for Jon Stewart to take. When's the last time you've seen a socialist on American television getting the chance to explain his or her view in a calm manner? The risk paid off, because I felt like I was watching an important moment.

On the point of Hilary's laughter, she gave a talk in my town over the weekend, and laughed an awful lot. She was interviewed by John Grisham at a fundraiser. I've posted the audio of the event on my website.

Journeyman: Pilot (series premiere) (AOL TV)

Sep 25th 2007 1:17AM I liked it, even though I was ready to tune out about halfway in. When the chick from Daybreak showed up, I was initially very skeptical. But when her double entered the show, yeah, that was pretty cool.

I'll watch, because of the lead-in. I'm glad NBC is putting all of these shows on Monday night, because I'll likely watch them all.

The Simpsons: He Loves to Fly and He D'oh's (season premiere) (AOL TV)

Sep 24th 2007 1:54AM I also felt the episode was a return to what the show is, and probably always has been. The movie renewed it. This was the first episode I've taped in years, and it was very good, I thought. I laughed the whole way, but was also touched by Homer's shame at being unemployed. Marge's tear getting sucked in was a nice touch. The scene where they were getting Homer ready for his first day... isn't that a reference to some old 50's show?
