Welcome To the New TV Squad! (AOL TV)
May 5th 2010 6:42PM So this is why Google Reader looked so bloated in my "entertainment" folder. Not loving the look either, and I'm not usually adverse to change or a complainer. It does feel cluttered.
Is there a way to filter RSS feeds by category/topic? (If not, I'm suggesting the feature and adding it to the feedback form.)
I might have to unsubscribe to cut down on RSS reader bloat, which is sad because TV Squad has been regular reading for me for awhile.
Alas, there's still CliqueClack and so much of what's in my reader is redundant (same topics, similar content in multiple website feeds) anyhow.
Oh, No: They're Making a Boston Version of 'Jersey Shore!' (AOL TV)

Apr 17th 2010 9:53AM Rumour has it, they're doing a Toronto version too. Sometimes I'm glad that I don't subscribe to cable.

General Mills Cuts More Sugar From Kids' Cereals (Slashfood)
Dec 9th 2009 6:45PM "Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5 percent of the sugar in children's diets,"
On one hand, I don't like the implication that he's absolving the cereal industry. On the other, it's the parents who are buying this crap and feeding it to their kids so it's in GM's best interest for many reasons.
Here's the Defying Gravity video from last night's Glee (AOL TV)
Nov 16th 2009 10:59PM I was going to say the same thing. I thought that Lea Michele resembled Idina Menzel the first time I saw her perform on Glee.
James Franco goes from movies to soap to 30 Rock (AOL TV)
Nov 4th 2009 2:59PM I was going to say... Does no one remember Freaks and Geeks or check IMDB?
Balloon mom admits it was all a hoax (AOL TV)
Oct 24th 2009 9:52PM The fact that the kid threw up more than once when interviewed makes it that much sadder. The poor kid couldn't take the stress. To ask your kid to lie like that is wrong and feels like a form of abuse. SHAME ON THEM. They're getting notoriety now but I really hope they get karmic payback if not legal ramifications. What kind of parent does that? It's selfish and wrong on so many levels. I sort of hope that they lose their children because they don't deserve them and the children would be better off with other people but I also don't want the children to suffer emotionally by being ripped from their family. That's a horrible position that Mr. and Mrs. Heene got themselves into.
Review: The Big Bang Theory - The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary (AOL TV)
Oct 21st 2009 10:49AM A few thoughts:
-When Sheldon said "revenge is a dish best served cold" in Klingon it reminded me of Jim Parson's character in Garden State. "...This one means 'Kill Kirk'... And also, 'hallelujah'... Depending on the context."
-Real Life Wil Wheaton would have apologized and acknowledged being a dick when he was a teenager - and I think many of us wondered which way he was going to go - but that was awesome. Loved the callback to "memaw"/"moon pie". I giggled hard when Penny called him that in the Summer Glau episode.
-Sheldon got PWNED by Wil Wheaton! I hope Wil returns. He likes them, they like him... it's a great match, or as Wolowitz's mom might say, "It's bashert". Is there precedence for turning celebrity cameos into recurring characters? (Entourage doesn't count.)
Speaking of Wolowitz and his mom:
-The "Shabbas/shabbat dinner" dialogue was great. This I must see.
(To elaborate on what Kona said: "Shabbat" is Hebrew. "Shabbos" or "shabbas" is Yiddish. Ashkenaz Jews are of eastern European descent and in past generations spoke Yiddish. If Jenny is checking Wikipedia, she might be interested in this entry)
-I don't know why this didn't occur to me until now, but Kevin Sussman seemed so much taller in Kissing Jessica Stein. :)
Also, Stuart's "Everyone has a different theory." felt like he was including the viewers as "everyone", thus making us a part of their world.
I hope this show never jumps the shark.

Oct 21st 2009 10:21AM I caught that too.
Glee: Vitamin D (AOL TV)
Oct 8th 2009 2:43PM The boys' mash up was awesome.
When Terri first broke out the Sudafed I thought of Jessi Spano at Bayside, high on caffeine pills. I have to wonder if the writer's were just a little inspired by that. Had the girls sung "I'm so excited" I'd have had no doubt.
I'm not usually a Jane Lynch fan - as much as I want to be - but the diary scene was the most enjoyable Lynch scene for me ever.
