AT&T's Mobility CEO "spills the beans" on iPhone 3G (TUAW.com)

Apr 3rd 2008 10:26AM Being an "early adopter" (after the original price drop) of the 8GB iPhone, I look forward to the 2.0 update but I have a question and maybe someone could answer it. Can the current iPhones on edge be upgraded via a firmware update to use the 3G network? I read somewhere that the 3G takes more battery power, etc. but do the current iphones already have the required hardware? Maybe it's just wishful thinking but Mr. Vega's comment "our integrated devices (will) be 3G devices in the not-too-distant future" is pretty open-ended...could that mean ALL devices will be upgraded to 3G? I have the family plan with AT&T and the two other phones are tiny little samsungs, with tiny little batteries and they both "run" on the 3G network. Seems possible that a firmware update (2.0 maybe??) could contain an upgrade enabling the faster network. Again maybe just wishful thinking...anybody know if this is even possible?

Google Calendar is live and it rocks (Download Squad)

Apr 25th 2006 2:07PM Downloaded it this morning, love the features thus far but...I agree with Blake, I don,t think you have the ability to "place" the new calender on my Google Homepage (beside my DownloadSquad link).

I also hope they will make it possible to sync with my Palm Treo datebook application (without having to go thru Outlook).

Overall, I like it alot!
