Microsoft handing out Windows 7 Launch Party host confirmations (Engadget)

Sep 22nd 2009 11:38AM It was either this or the student offer with my email...this one came in first!

My "Windows Party" is the happy hour that I was going to attend anyway...if anyone cares to come to the house afterward and watch me install Windows 7, hey, great. Have some Pringles...

Jun 14th 2009 4:50PM Yeah -- when I reinstalled Facebook on my Blackberry, I was given the option to select contacts who are on FB to invite. Facebook then proceeded to invite EVERYONE to whom I had EVER sent email. Argh! Since I have my address book synched to Gmail, I had a bunch of old co-workers, Craigslist trading partners, and "one-hit wonders" invited too.

Jun 11th 2009 10:34AM @motoxo -- absolutely agree on Moneydance. I wanted to move from Quicken 2007 on Windows to the Mac, but Intuit does not make a Mac version that will import QFW data. Moneydance did just that, and seamlessly.

I downloaded the free, 100 manual transaction trial of Moneydance and ran QFW and MD in parallel for a month, just to make sure MD would work with my banks and didn't have any inherent flaws that would make me stick to Quicken. Even though I have been using one version of Quicken or another for 10 years, and am extremely comfortable with it, I was able to confidently make the move and not look back.

Did I mention that MoneyDance is cross platform Mac/Windows/Linux? And that I am NOT an agent of the company? :-)

What does Chrysler's restructuring plan have in store for the Viper? (Autoblog)

May 5th 2009 2:51PM Ok -- I own a Nissan Titan, and in the last couple of weeks I have driven the Toyota, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge half-ton trucks. The only truck in that group that I would willingly trade my Nissan for is the Ram Hemi. The truck was outstanding in every way. Outstanding.

As a matter of fact, Dodge WAS supposed to build the next-gen Titan in exchange for a Dodge-branded Nissan much for my new truck.

Mar 26th 2009 12:49PM I could use a replacement for the old Gen. 4 20gig. The middle clickwheel button doesn't work in temps above 70 degrees F.

Engadget's recession antidote: win a Kensington SlimBlade Trackball! (Engadget)

Mar 10th 2009 2:34PM I want...I want...I want. Haven't had a good Kensington trackball since the old ADB Turbo Mouse on my PowerMac 6100!

Feb 19th 2009 1:38PM If a Hitler-like leader could unite the Americans in perceived social classes from poverty to upper-middle class against the rich 1%, you would see a Marxist-like revolution. We have convinced ourselves that we are "doing well enough," and that mentality keeps us from truly changing the world.

Consider that the vast majority of our government's leadership is not affected by the decisions they make on our behalf. Then ask yourself if people unaffected by their decisions should be making those decisions.

Sep 18th 2008 2:50PM Chrome has become my #1 browser at home -- it is quick on the web apps I utilize most, does not balk at the vast majority of sites, and is the most stable browser I have used in 15 years of surfing.

I only use Firefox to stumble...and IE to access intranet sites at work.
