What was your first computer? (Download Squad)
Jan 3rd 2010 8:57AM Circa 1979, first regularly used computer was my uncle's TRS-80, Model 1 (complete with Radio Shack cassette-player). Still have fond memories of that thing, it's crappy games and how hot it got the room. First one I actually owned was a Tandy Color Computer 2... good ol' BASIC. Sweet.
When MySpace isn't black enough: BlackPlanet.com (Download Squad)
Nov 25th 2007 11:17AM Whine all you want, but BlackPlanet is just as racist as WhitePlanet would be. Why the hell can't we all just get along?
CIA and FBI being naughty on Wikipedia (Download Squad)
Aug 17th 2007 8:13PM The CIA and FBI have every right to edit entries that contain erroneous information about them or their operations. There are plenty of tin-foil-hat-wearing moonbats out there who have nothing better to do with their time than smear those agencies (and others) with their own biased crackpot theories. Any intelligent reader can see that Wikipedia is full of bias on any subject that is more controversial than toast or lawn-mowing techniques.
In the interest of full disclosure, I'm neither American, nor an employee of either agency.
BiTorrent video store launches Monday (Download Squad)
Feb 25th 2007 6:34PM "After helping thousands of internet users to download illegal copies".... actually its only "illegal" in certain countries. In others, not so. Copyright law varies from country to country.
If you want to make an "ethical" debate about the downloading, well now that's a completely different animal.
French minister's response to Apple: "I don't want the crap." (Engadget)
Apr 15th 2006 5:25PM All these Steve Jobs worshipers love to scream about Apple's so-called "right" to protect this and that... i
in truth, Apple has no "right" to anything - in the U.S. or anywhere else, that is not dictated by law. "Rights", particularly for corporations, are copletely imaginary constructs. If France says that Apple does not have the right to restrict use to a proprietary player, then they do not, if only in France. It's just that simple.
Personally, as a consumer I take great pleasure in Apple (or Micro$oft, or any other greedy, controlling corporation) being told "no" once in a while. Maybe you Jobs-heads should start thinking about yourselves and YOUR so-called "rights" for a change.
