Apr 27th 2010 3:09PM I am a graphic designer with 7 years of experience designing vehicle wraps and working as a manager in a signs & vehicle graphics shop. I can tell you, he used the absolute WRONG material on his car. He used a Calendared vinyl (3-5 year durability with solvent based adhesive). I would HATE to see what happens after he takes that off, what residue it leaves behind, what bubbles show up, and how much it will contract and possibly even cause body damage.

The only proper way to do this is with 3M IJ-180C-22, a matte black Cast, re-positionable, pressure-activated adhesive that is sold for around $800/roll. I would expect this 'ghetto' job to be done on an old Toyota, but a late model BMW? If you can afford a $35,000 car you can certainly afford to not destroy it's body/paint.
