Will Bankrupt Blockbuster Stave Off Extinction with New Pricing Scheme? (Moviefone Blog)
Dec 9th 2010 6:52PM Plus, in the UK, films are released to rental and retail on the same day. I find this artificial 28 day window utterly bizarre.
Subscribe to any page with Google Reader. No feed? No problem. (Download Squad)
Jan 27th 2010 6:53AM Feedity is rather good at this too. The problem with the Google version is that it doesn't create links to the actual. It just tells you that the page has been updated which falls apart if that's happening dozens of times a day.
Discuss: Do You Have A New Year's Movie Tradition? (Cinematical)
Jan 3rd 2010 8:46AM If it's available, watching a sci-fi film set in the coming year while it's still the future. 2010 this year obviously. Failing that (there aren't as many as you'd think) simply a film with a New Year's Eve scene in it.
BBC almost revamps Doctor Who website for new era (AOL TV)
Sep 2nd 2009 4:45AM Um, why would the BBC totally redesign the website now, with three final 10th Doctor specials to go and then have that new design still hanging around nearly nine months until the Moffat era begins?
The answer is that they haven't -- and haven't said they have. Simply shifted the architecture about a bit to accommodate the new blog about the animated series.
Makes more sense to relaunch a website when you have a new series, and rumoured new logo and title sequence finalised to work with. Which they presumably are.
Gone Too Soon: My So-Called Life (AOL TV)
Sep 2nd 2009 4:30AM Ah, the old fan-generated myth of Claire Danes wanting to leave MSCL and make films being half the reason for its cancellation. That began on ye olde fan discussion boards online in the mid-90s as reason why the show was cancelled.
When asked Danes said that she wanted to stay with the show, and the creators refute that as having nothing to do with the cause for its cancellation. It was the network all the way on this one.
Danes going into films was a result of the cancellation and not the cause.
Fan Rant: 'The Deal' is Better Than 'The Queen' (Cinematical)
Aug 10th 2008 9:43AM What's really interesting about The Deal is that like The Queen, it's not really about Blair, it's about Gordon Brown and his decision to step aside for the good of the party. In both films, Blair is a kind of shadowy figure who ultimately controls the situation.
Jim Carrey Will Soon be a 'Yes Man' (Cinematical)
Jul 14th 2007 7:04AM Actually, Danny Wallace began as a radio producer but has gone on to produce a number of books as well as presenting a range of tv shows, including 'Castaway' (a very British take on Survivor) and 'How To Start Your Own Country' in which he turned his own flat into a sovereign state and crowned himself King.

Feb 26th 2007 11:12AM I use the Sesame Street approach:
On each day I generally only read the feeds whose title begins with the given letter. So today's internet was brought to me by the letters Z, U, N and G on the number 26.
Roeper and Ramis: Conflict of Interest? (Cinematical)
Nov 14th 2006 6:30PM I stopped watching the uk's Film programme for much the same reason some years ago. Jonathan Ross is so connected in the entertainment industry that often he would fail to review a film at all or just interview a participant which seemed to miss the point. You can see his problem -- he's heavily involved with comic relief and there he is with Richard Curtis's Love Actually. I still don't know what he thought of it.
Guilty Pleasures: Spice World (Cinematical)
Jun 5th 2006 4:15PM The Gary Glitter was originally filmed with Glitter in attendance but then the charges were pressed and they had to rush reshoot the scene just weeks before release lest that overshadowed the rest of this classic.
