Sep 25th 2009 2:09PM These i7's are destroying core 2s in benchmarks. The implementation of turbo boost means that if you're only using 1 core, it will automatically overclock it into the neighborhood of 2.8 GHz, while shutting down the other 3 cores. If it's using two cores, it'll shut two down and overclock the two that are in use to ~2.5 GHz, or something like that. etc. etc...
