May 6th 2011 1:26PM Mike,While I can understand advising people to grab apps like an emulator before it gets taken down, as those can at least be used legally/morally even if they aren't usually, this game sounds like it's purely illicit. As a developer myself, I'm rather offended that you're advocating something which you admit gives nothing back to the original developer, even though it is clearly using the original developers work.If you think I'm overreacting: Are you OK with me taking posts you write and claiming them as my own? And then trying to profit from that?
Dec 18th 2010 11:42AM My choice is definitely Mother 1 (thank god for fan translations!).
May 4th 2010 3:57AM Oh, TUAW, just think of what a great story it would be to review apps made on this contest iPad! Consider this both my plan, and my entry in this contest.
Mar 8th 2010 12:49PM Something about this doesn't seem to add up. It replaces the adds, and yet it doesn't stop the regular ads? Either that statement is wrong, or it will be considered some sort of ad fraud by the advertisers very soon.I'm all for ad blocking (seriously, have you SEEN the internet?), but replacing ads with other ads seems a bit weird, no matter how "green" the new ads are.
Feb 8th 2010 7:02PM I agree. This is one of the most misleading charts I've seen lately. Way to go, Silicon Alley Insider. Simple lines would have been much clearer than shaded areas. Or, as wscott pointed out, bar graphs!
Jan 11th 2010 12:55PM What, no mention of Mixxx, a cross-platform, open-source DJ software? http://www.mixxx.org/I use it for radio shows and club nights, and it's pretty great, especially for the price. Finally, I want to echo what others have said: DJing is about the end result. Vinyl vs. MP3 doesn't matter. Encoded vinyl vs. mouse/trackpad doesn't matter. Selection of good songs in good order with good transitions.... that's what matters. (Scratching, however, is where gear and technique come into play.)
Aug 28th 2009 4:34PM Started with 10.4 on my first gen MacBook. At that time, I didn't think it could get any better, then 10.5 dropped. I'm expecting to be just as please with 10.6.
Aug 17th 2009 10:17PM Personally, I find all this amusing. I have never needed a URL shortener, and can not foresee ever needing one.
Aug 16th 2009 1:38AM As a non-iPhone owner, I think this is one of the most interesting iPhone app roundups I've ever seen. I vote for more leftfield app roundups. Much more entertaining than another "top 5 note apps."
Aug 14th 2009 3:02PM Great. Just what Twitter needs: an easier way to sully the signal-to-noise ratio.
