Apr 8th 2011 12:33PM You did a great job of telling the story, thanks. Top speed never interests me; 200 mph didn't seem THAT fast until I realized that what you're saying in your 1592 parlance is 321 km/hr !!! Crazy, just crazy.
Mar 21st 2011 12:28PM I'm a huge fan of The Gimp, been using it for years - but I'm not sure if that is to @3tear's point or to @Gardiner Westbound's point...
Mar 4th 2011 1:50PM A brave soul that would sit that close to a canister filled to 10,200 psi! I'm sure they've done lots (and LOTS) of safety tests, but all it would take is one YouTube video of a massive failure and 'unintentional acceleration' problems would seem like a paper cut by comparison.
Feb 25th 2011 12:22PM Yuck, how 2007-ish is a 'crossover' ? Raise the height making it less stable and therefore less fun to drive and more dangerous? Add a bunch of plasticy parts increasing the weight even further? No thanks. Why not go the other way... lower the car, add some tasteful ground-effects and sportier rims. I agree with DTM that wagon proportions always appeal to me, but car companies seem to want to expand them out for some reason (I'm looking at you Subaru, for discontinuing the Legacy Wagon).
Feb 15th 2011 12:12PM John H, I meant that the manual would FEEL faster, even if it was slower than an automatic.
Feb 15th 2011 12:06PM Top Gear (or some other car-entertainment show) should do an experiment... get two performance sedans, exactly the same except for the transmission, then do blindfolded tests (on the passenger) and ask them which of the two cars accelerates faster. I bet you could even intentionally accelerate the manual slower and the passenger would still think it was faster than the automatic. The reason I like manual is it feels faster than an automatic even if it isn't.
Feb 7th 2011 1:09PM An excellent question, one that I've wondered about as well. Anyone know?
Jan 30th 2011 10:22PM It's all just #FFFFFF'd up on my iPod touch (get it? #FFFFFF in HTML is white, which is all you see if you don't have Flash). Ah computer nerd jokes!
Jan 27th 2011 4:48PM This is a good start, but can't wait until there are more rules that can be applied to when the pop-ups appear - "Important mail notifications on - Notify me only when an important message arrives in my inbox" is pretty useful though.
Jan 21st 2011 10:00AM Its really strange that they left the front plate on for the video. Does anyone know WHERE in Ontario this is? I'd love to take a winter-driving training course there in my Miata - RWD on the back streets after a snowfall is lots of fun, but getting out on a course, getting a bit closer to that edge between control and mayhem, with an instructor would be amazing.
